Obama Administration Defends “Jihad” — “Mein Kampf” Means “My Jihad” in Arabic

Last week Barack Obama’s top Counterterrorism adviser announced that the administration believed they “jihad was a legitimate tenet of Islam.” FOX News reported:

The president’s top counterterrorism adviser on Wednesday called jihad a “legitimate tenet of Islam,” arguing that the term “jihadists” should not be used to describe America’s enemies.

It’s technically correct, since sane/moderate Muslims recognize an obligation to engage in “jihad” in a spiritual sense — a “fight for truth and righteousness” sort of concept, comparable to many brands of Christianity. But they don’t go around hollering about the glory of killing infidels in the name of jihad, or describe themselves as “jihadists” in any language. In fact they probably disparagingly refer to the violence-loving Muslims as “jihadists”. No reason we shouldn’t.

Okay: I accept that this term is a legitimate tenet of Islam -- it is a term involving a duty of Muslims, and while it indeed means 'struggle' or 'striving' for Allah, its common use means to war against those who oppose Isalm and refuse to accept and submit to its teachings.

To the contrary, the point of those conducting 'jihad' has a long history in Islam - which is specifically why that religion has such a violent history: if you are not with them, you are against them. War... in the name of jihad... is the result of the violent practitioners opting to kill those who refuse to submit to Islam. This is not a Western term or a Western practice -- it originates specifically with those who want to wage war for the purpose of spreading the religion.

So to argue that our use of the word is incorrect or pejorative is difficult to swallow since we aren't typically the ones who bring it up in the first place... never mind the fact that it's only an issue with those who are planting the bombs. We aren't the ones issuing fatwas and naming our groups with the term "Jihad" in them. There's a lot of Muslims who refuse to accept violence... but ALL of the ones who don't are doing so in the name of Jihad. To say anything else is to be ignorant of reality - or to be deliberately misleading.

Speaking to the women of America: Are you freaking crazy, or what?

Do you realize what the goal of Islam is when it comes to women? Absolute submission to complete domination!!! The Muslims will not tolerate western culture once they take over! They will force us to cover ourselves from head to foot and forbid us to socialize with any men who are not family members!! They will accuse us of adultery if we look at another man! They will accuse our daughters of prostitution if they are raped by total strangers! These murdering lunatics are methodically, scientifically undermining our society and their goal is eventual domination. Wake Up! Our daughters will be victimized by our apathy! The Muslims will start by demanding our tolerance of their actions, then they'll demand that our actions show a tolerance of their beliefs, then they'll restrict our behavior to those things that they tolerate!
