Hogan’s Heroes Capitalism at its best. From within the confines of a Nazi POW camp Hogan and his group were able to sell anything from nylons to whiskey, and made a nice profit.

I wonder if they only got away with the show because all of the Germans in the show were portrayed by Jewish actors.

I Spy from the mid-sixties featured unabashed anti-communist cold war plots and the CIA were the good guys.

The show was syndicated in Europe but not in Germany...I wonder why.

BTW I always thought Hogans Heroes would make a great movie -- Hogan returns home to find that FDR and the Democrat mafia has taken over his once free country so he reassembles his team and starts taking down power mad bureaucrats and congressmen.

There is no way it would sell in Hollywood though
