““What we said all along is that Sen. McCain will obviously debate — he’s always debated,” Rogers said, adding, but “he has a day job. Folks want him doing his job during the week, so he doesn’t have, unlike Congressman Hayworth, unlimited time on his hands.””

What a bunch of crappola. McCain has the WORST attendance/voting record in the senate...worse than Obama was.
He’s spent the last 10 years campaigning. He should be ousted for that reason alone.

WAKE UP ARIZONA! Don’t vote like stupid Californians!

McCain’s record here: BAD!!!
J.D. has an EXCELLENT record.

[snip]Given that McCain has spent the last ten years running for president, with more time in Iowa & N.H. than Arizona, I thought it would be interesting to see just how often ‘the maverick’ bothers to show up for Senate votes.

Well, guess what, as bad as Obama was, McCain was even worse.

[snip]Sen. John McCain (AZ) — the only current Republican presidential candidate who is a sitting U.S. senator — has missed more votes than any other senator since Congress convened in January, with the exception of Sen. Tim Johnson (D-SD), who spent months recuperating from a brain hemorrhage. According to washingtonpost.com’s U.S. Congress Votes Database, Obama has missed 74 out of 93 roll-call votes (79.6%) since the end of the August congressional recess.

McCain has missed 63 out of 93 roll-call votes (67.8%) since the end of the August congressional recess. But for the entire year, McCain has missed 79 more votes than Obama; since January, McCain has missed 212 out of 403 (52.6%) roll-call votes in the 110th Congress, while Obama has missed 133 out of 403 (33.0%) roll-call votes.

see it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5eiUNzrpxBo

— June 29, 2008 — Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) became the most absent member of the Senate. According to the Washington Post’s votes database, McCain has “missed 367 votes (61.4%) during the current Congress.” In fact, CQ reports today that McCain hasn’t voted in the Senate since April 8.

On the other hand, J.D. Hayworth missed only 1% of his votes in congress.

“Don’t go there ... limiting “free speech” is never a good idea.”

I did not in any measure limit free speech. I suggested limiting time of service. Pray tell, how does that effect free speech?

We’re trying to get the debate here in Mohave County. JD will be here again over 4th of July, McCain the week after. We’ll see.

We’re trying...SEND JD MONEY. I’m setting up a Q&A here for JD...but the real reason he’ll come is if we whip up some money.. can we do it? He told me he comes here and reads all the time. He even quoted my some FREEPER names..pretty impressive.

John McCain is a War Hero.
I just hope he leaves politics now. It's been a tough road.

If I were 15 points up I wouldn’t debate JD either

and have to answer why I’m a moderate in the year of open season on RINOs

The big danger is the back room negotiating. No matter how badly Hayworth wants to debate, he should feel free to bring up any point he wants. Otherwise, he should announce that the debate terms are rigged. A genuine debate is ‘no holds barred’, and that’s what most voters falsely assume every debate is.

“suspended” his campaign to go to Washington to pass a stimulus/bailout?

At that point, his campaign ended. That cost him the election.

Yes indeed, but I fear the people of AZ and their belief in incumbency.
