1. The videotaped statements of two Mavi Marmara crew members show that preparations for a violent confrontation with IDF forces were put in motion about two hours before the boarding began, when the Israeli Navy hailed the ship and told it to halt.
2. According to the statements, the atmosphere aboard the Mavi Marmara was tense and the crew noticed a gathering on the main deck. When they checked the upper deck they discovered that IHH operatives were cutting the ship’s railings with metal disks they had brought with them into lengths suitable to be used as clubs. The crew members said the activities worried them and that they tried to stop the operatives but were unsuccessful.
3. The following are the statements of the one of the ship’s captains and an officer. This bulletin contains the text of the statements and the videotaped interviews."

The EU expanded its roster of member states from those of the recently liberated Communist bloc while Turkey had stood by for decades, as staunch, indispensable ally doing all it could to curry favor, hat in hand, pleading to have its geopolitical desires fulfilled of being embraced by the West as the proud, progressive, secular nation they are.
But the EU fearing unfettered immigration of Muslims would have none of it. And despite all that Turkey was more than ready, willing able to give in exchange for their political desires, economic reform, women’s rights, even the death penalty, all of the remnants of their medieval society, it would never be enough to allay the EU’s fears of open borders with a Muslim population as large as Turkey.
So this is the price we are all going to pay for the lofty ideals of European enlightenment which have a world of political credibility so long as you are Christian.

Egypt announced Tuesday that it would open its border with Gaza, which Reuters describes as “a major boost for Hamas and a blow to efforts by Israel and its Western allies to cripple the Islamists.” Turkey is threatening to send more ships, escorted by its own navy, while there are fears Hizballah will use the incident to justify a new wave of rocket attacks toward Israel.
Was it, as some suggest, the plan of flotilla organizers all along?
It’s worth remembering why the aid was being transported by sea in the first place. A convoy led by then-British MP George Galloway ended in violence at the Egyptian-Gaza border in early January after authorities delayed their entry into Gaza.
An Egyptian police officer was shot and killed by Hamas gunmen. Egypt deported Galloway, made it clear he was unwelcome there again, and told the convoy it could no longer enter through its crossing. Galloway’s partner in that convoy was the Turkish-based International Humanitarian Relief Foundation (IHH), which helped lead the flotilla.
IHH was a key player in the Free Gaza Movement flotilla. Israeli officials say IHH is tied to Hamas, and even to al Qaeda, and it was banned in Israel in 2008 for being “part of Hamas’s fundraising network.” Court papers in the U.S. prosecution of Abdurahman Alamoudi also tie it to terrorist activity, citing French intelligence expert Jean Louis-Bruguiere’s assessment that IHH played “[a]n important role” in the Millennium bomb plot.
IHH also is part of the Union of Good, a collection of charities run by Muslim Brotherhood spiritual leader Yusuf al-Qaradawi. The union was designated by the U.S. Treasury Department in 2008 as a terrorist entity due to its fund-raising activities on behalf of Hamas and Hamas-controlled organizations in the West Bank and Gaza.”

SNIPPET: “New evidence is challenging several claims against the Israeli navy surrounding the violent confrontation that took place on May 31st on IHH’s Mavi Marmara ship. The new information comes directly from passengers on the flotilla.
Video statements from two Mavi Marmara crew members released on Wednesday by the Israeli Intelligence and Terrorism Information Center (ITIC) confirm that IHH operatives on the ship prepared to fight the Israeli navy two hours prior to the Israeli commandos boarded it. The IHH members used equipment they brought on board before departing Turkey to fight the Israelis.
Mehmut Tuval, the captain of the Mavi Marmara, said IHH activists had cut metal bars, steel and chains prior to the IDF takeover. Concerned about what he saw, Tuval threw some of the bars and chains into the sea.
Mavi Marmara chief officer Gokkiran Gokhan told investigators he was asked to look into commotion occurring near the life-boat section of the ship. He saw that bars and chains had already been cut off by IHH activists from the deck using rotary saws. When asked who the saws belonged to, he replied, “I don’t know, not the ship’s. There is no such equipment on the ship.””
