Group eyes big-ticket weapons, force size to reduce costs over 10 years. NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- The Pentagon could save nearly $1 trillion over the next 10 years if would reduce the size of its fighting force and dump a handful of heavy-weapon programs that have long histories of trouble and cost growth, a bipartisan task force said Friday.
The Sustainable Defense Task Force, formed under the auspices of U.S. Rep. Barney Frank (D, Mass.), said chopping back the procurement of dud projects could save the country $88.7 billion.

If that homo would just get aids and die already this country would be far better off, IMO.
I agree that there is waste in the Pentagon, but far less waste than there is in other government departments who do nothing but make up regulations and hand out government money.

Bad Jos Man...
Nah, Aids takes a long time and someone with his wealth would have access to all the latest treatment to turn it into more of a chronic condition than a death sentence. A massive heart attack or stroke on the other hand...
Not too clean of a post I must say. Geez.
Start with the Cmdr in Chief
My apologies, I’m not in a particularly PC mood tonight.
Imagine just how much money we could save if we dumped the entire democratic party, on the local, state and national levels.
F-35 ping.
Heads up.
As Michael Savage often says, our problem is that we have all these weapons, but we never use them. In other words, we are a paper tiger. I vote against the F-35. It's going to be another waste of money. The president (and probably future presidents) will be pussies and never use them. So...No!
In a perfect world, the two main parties would be Libertarians and Republicans. They would fight over the social issues but at least the gov’t would always be limited.
The F-15 is in use in Iraq right now. The F-15 is in use for air interdiction Alert Missions right now in the U.S.
The F-15 is in short supply due to structural fatigue.
We are retiring or have retired many.
The F-22 is the fill in for the F-15.
The F-22 is currently deployed to Guam and Okinawa.
The F-22 can be used to take out A2A targets in NK.
The F-16 is currently in service in Japan and South Korea.
The F-16 is there for SEAD and DEAD missions.
The F-35 is the replacement for the F-16 for Air Force missions.
The F-35 is desperately need in the next few years as F-15’s are phased out. F-22’s production halted, and F-16 life cycles end.
The F-35 will be used to drop bombs on targets in Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq, etc. if needed.
But, we need a replacement for the F-16.
Peace through Strength.
Always be prepared.
This is Obama’s dream. He wants our military to be a small fraction of what it is now.
