Obama defending Gulf effort in Oval Office address

WASHINGTON – National anger rising, President Barack Obama is defending his efforts against the country's worst environmental disaster and hoping his first Oval Office address Tuesday night will stoke confidence that he can see the job through until the gushing oil is gone and Gulf Coast lives are back to normal.

"We're going to fight back with everything that we've got," Obama said in Pensacola, Fla., capping a two-day inspection tour of the stricken region before flying back to Washington for his evening address to the nation.

Eight weeks to the day after an offshore oil rig leased by BP PLC exploded, killed 11 workers and sent tens of millions of gallons of crude flooding into the Gulf of Mexico, Obama's high-stakes speech came during a week of constantly unfolding drama.

Lightning even struck. A bolt hit the ship siphoning oil from the still-spewing undersea leak on — injuring no one but halting containment efforts for a few hours.

Back on land, as long as the oil keeps flowing, no one seems happy with what anyone is doing to deal with it, from Obama on down.

This is an awful tragedy for the people of the Gulf, for the workers who were killed and the families, for our environment, the wildlife, etc. I’m sincerely sorry it happened.

That being said, I think this is a last-chance wake-up call. The equivalent of a 2 x 4 upside the head, to this country-I think God is showing this country the error of it’s ways over the last 40-50 years, culminating in this incompetant assclown’s coronation in 2008. You know-Mr “now the seas will heal” or whatever BS he spewed forth last year.

It’s like that Toyota commercial “You asked for it (BO)-You got it!”

Next step is lancing the festering boil infecting our country. Liver Lips and his wife Lurch wouldn’t be stuffing themselves with Wagyu beef tonight without the complicity of those who put them there. There needs to be a leveling wind-we can’t live with those who want to destroy us.

I smell a setup. There have been several instances where left-wing talking heads want Obama to be tougher, to “act like a dictator”.
Well, maybe the gloves come off tonight. Visible anger followed by tough dictator like measures.
The MSM will eat it up; Chrissy Matthews will have an orgasm, and the left-wing base will once again worship the man.
And we won’t do a damn thing.
