Mary Peters, transportation secretary under Bush, dismissed biking paths and trails as projects that "really are not transportation," saying they had no place in federal transportation policy.Sure doesn't. There is no way I'm going to ride a bike to work in 105° Summer heat and 5° temps through deep snow drifts during Winter.
