LAKEHURST — The Lakehurst section of Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst is on lockdown this morning, base officials said. The lockdown went into effect at about 9:15 a.m., Senior Airman David Carbajal said. The lockdown means no one is allowed to leave or enter the military base.

I put the news on and so far I don’t see anything on it.
Military officials have locked down the Lakehurst Naval Air Station after reports of shots being fired by a perpetrator.
Currently, a manhunt with a K-9 unit is under way for a man who jumped the naval station's fence.
Authorities are also looking for a FedEx truck that came onto the base without delivering a package. Allegedly the driver is in posession of a .38 handgun.

Thirty years ago, the Air Station's Fire Chief was Gus Forte. As an Ocean County Firefighter I trained under him. I remember crawling through the catapult tunnel filled with smoke. Damn claustrophobic.
It's a somewhat open base located in the now northern section of the Jersey Pine Barrens. A lot of sand roads and trails. Hikers easily wander in, albeit not unnoticed.

Fox News reporting Lakehurst is not on lockdown and that they are unable to confirm anything. Weird.

That’s not what FOX said...they said there is some confusion about a possible person who scaled a fence. One gate is closed...
