Interior secretary to issue new drilling ban (Unfreakinbelievable)
MSNBC ^ | 6/22/2010 | nbc

Posted on 06/22/2010 6:13:28 PM PDT by tobyhill

Interior Secretary Ken Salazar said Tuesday he will issue a new order imposing a moratorium on deepwater drilling after a federal judge struck down the existing one.

Salazar said in a statement that the new order will contain additional information making clear why the six-month drilling pause was necessary in the wake of the Gulf oil spill. The judge in New Orleans who struck down the moratorium earlier in the day complained there wasn't enough justification for it.

Salazar pointed to indications of inadequate safety precautions by industry on deepwater wells. "Based on this ever-growing evidence, I will issue a new order in the coming days that eliminates any doubt that a moratorium is needed, appropriate, and within our authorities."

“The question must shift to “what are we going to do about it”. Saying “no fair” is not going to matter to these people, and their media will cover for them and demonize anybody questioning the “why”.”

A couple of incidents come to mind:

“When in the course of human events.....”

“Fort Sumter”

Is it time to sack DC yet?

It's past time IMO. I think others feel the same way but are just waiting to see the results of the November elections.

Maybe the Administration should just present “the further advance of the Progressive agenda, which includes placing more restrictive controls on the free marketplace aimed at destroying Capitalism” as their justification for the moratorium.

In theory you are correct. To issue another moratorium would indeed be contempt.. As in, “Yeah we heard you but we’re above the law so take THIS!” Never has the term “War over oil” been so appropriate, except this time it’s the American Gov’t vs. Americans.

I caught a few minutes of Rush today. He said the appeal will be before the 5th Circuit, which is scheduled to go on vacation. Rush wasn’t aware how long that vacation would be.

Obama has his will. He was granted it when he was elected.

Stop & think about just how silly that sounds.

He represents US. The office is much bigger than one man.

And its MUCH bigger than this man.

This douchebag really thinks he’s somebody special, doesn’t he?

Has any other administration been so insensitive to the will of the people, the constitution, or the laws of the land?

“Well, also that Putin doesn’t throw a ball like a limp-wristed sissy, “

Putin is macho. Obama is metrosexual.

I am not a big fan of Putin, don’t get me wrong. I just acknowledge that he is actually trying to build up his country. Unlike our current president, who couldn’t be doing much more damage than he already is, from the war to the economy to social policy.

IMHO, those that sit out elections because the candidate is not pure enough and allow the Democrats to control the Congress are enablers and are as much a cause of this mess as the Democrats.

Agree. . .now we are facing - among other grave threats per Obama - the re-creation of our political electorate by Executive 'fiat'. And whether by those, 'too late smart' or just 'forever stupid'; America's damnation will move forward by by Obama.

And the 'man who would be King' may become, just that.

It's heating up pretty good down the bayou (Larose, Golden Meadow, Morgan City, Houma etc.). Those boys are getting more miffed by the day.
Buddies of mine who work for a big wireline company have already been told in a round about way that if they want their jobs, overseas may be their only option.
