I suspect you are wrong. The moratorium is not on production. Production from the Gulf will continue, drilling at depths below 500 feet will not. If it is just 6 months, I doubt that overall, worldwide production will suffer much, but admittedly I am no expert.
You’re wrong. Deep water drilling accounts for 32% of our domestic oil production and 11% of domestic natural gas production. The moratorium would be very painful to all Americans.
