IRAQ: U.S. Troops Make Plea to Mother of Fallen Warrior
"Please Don't Forget About Us and Our Fight!"
Debbie Lee, the mother of the first Navy SEAL killed in Iraq, has just returned from a visit to Iraq where she spoke with U.S. troops who are still deployed there.
The message they sent was a heart-tugging, emotional plea to the American people: please don't forget about us and our missions here.
Debbie Lee will reveal the messages that U.S. Troops wanted her to pass along to the American public during the historic 8-Hour "TroopAThon" live broadcast that takes place Thursday, July 1st - 4:00 PM - 12:00 Midnight Eastern / 1:00 Pm - 9:00 PM Pacific. The event will be broadcast online, over the radio and on television and can be streamed at: www.TroopAThon.org
The TroopAThon, sponsored by the nation's largest pro-troop organization, Move America Forward, will serve as an opportunity for the American people to sponsor care packages for U.S. troops - culminating in what will be the largest shipment of care packages to U.S. troops in history.
Debbie traveled with a small film crew to document her experiences in Iraq, and bring home interviews of the brave men and woman who have been assigned the task of transitioning security oversight over to Iraqi authorities.
“The stories we captured on film are absolutely remarkable,” said Ms. Lee. “The dedication of these American troops is humbling, as is their relationship with Iraqi military leaders, who expressed their deep gratitude for the skill and tenacity of US Forces, who are working to restore Iraq to prosperity it had lost under Saddam Hussein.”
Debbie Lee’s son, Marc Alan Lee, was the first Navy SEAL to be killed in action on August 2nd 2006 in Ramadi, Iraq. Since that time, Ms. Lee has been a tireless advocate for the troops, teaming up with TroopAThon to help bring them some of the comforts of home while deployed.
The Troopathon, which takes place in just 7 days, is an 8-hour live show featuring notable celebrities, personalities, and military personnel such as Sean Hannity, Gary Sinise, Rush Limbaugh, and many others. The TroopAThon will be broadcast live from the Nixon Library on July 1st from 1-9pm PST, and may be viewed at www.Troopathon.org.
