U.S. Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., is getting a bit of heat over campaign contributions to from BP.
BP, of course, has become pariah over the Gulf oil spill and its small people comments by executives.
Friends of the Earth enviro group has listed McCain in its BP Ten list of politicians who have received money from the British oil company, receiving $36,700 during his tenure in office. The group says McCain and others who have received campaign cash from BP to donate the same amounts to Gulf cleanup efforts.
The list also includes House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, D-Md., Sen. Mary Landrieu, D-La., Senate Minority Leader Mitchell McConnell, R-Kent., U.S. Rep. Charles Rangel, D-N.Y., and U.S. Rep. Ron Paul, R-Texas.

And El Zee-rho and Rahm?
Otherwise they should just stfu.
How ridiculous is this?
“Senate Minority RINO Leader Mitchell McConnell, R-Kent”
The I fixed it.
Not a fan of McCain, but why isn’t the $1m given by BP to Obama not front page news?
BP only donates to Republicans if they are RINOs. The were co-conspirators along with Algore and Enron to set up the carbon trading scheme that would have made all three billions of dollars out of the hides of American consumers.
Fugedaboudit...its just the “good ol’ boys’ club members at play.
I dont see baraq obama’s name on the list.
Wasn’t he the all time biggest recipient of BP donations?

Energy Secretary Steven Chu received $500 MILLION (half a BILLION) from BP to fund a think tank at his university- how about giving that back.

“Chu, who declined to comment for this story, is also more industry friendly than his rhetoric suggests. Last year he sealed a deal between the Berkeley Lab, two public universities, and oil company BP, creating the largest university-industry alliance in US history, the $500 million Energy Biosciences Institute, to conduct biofuels research. The proposal sparked fierce opposition from faculty and students at the University of California-Berkeley, which will host the institute. Biology professor Ignacio Chapela called the partnership the “coup de grace to the very idea of a university that can represent the best interest of the public.”
During the 2008 election cycle, Obama was the largest recipient of BP's largess; collecting $71,051 from BP employees (remember, Obama did not take any PAC money). By comparison, McCain, got $36,649 from BP.
Their McCain numbers match the article.
So "Friends of the Earth" obviously just somehow didn't include Obama. I'm sure it was just an oversight and not intentional at all on their part. (/sarc)
And Sarah keeps backing up this crook along with Michael Steele.
And all this time McCain was being financed by Soros.
And no. Don’t give me this crap that Sarah owes him favors. There is no such thing as “favors” in politics. It is all payoff.
This is why our country is in such a mess. There is no will. Everybody is hiding under their beds not wanting to see the truth.
