Ah, yes, the Killer Bees . . . . . . the Texas Legislature at its best!! IIRC, the Killer Bees were hoping to prevent a vote on a new re-districting plan that was not favorable to adding more Dems to the Texas Legislature.
Since then, the Texas Legislature has become a Republican majority body versus a Democrat majority and things have improved. That’s one of the main reasons why Texas has a strong economy and jobs out the wazzoo.

Thanks for the reminder. Yes, TX changed to Republican all down the ballot about the time I moved away. When I lived there, Republicans were still hunted for bounty, although we did have John Tower in the Senate. We had a fair number of Republican in Missouri City (Quail Valley) where I lived. I used to help at the Primary. In those days everybody voted at the tennis courts (Recreation Center). The line would come in the door, and then it would split and part of it would go right and part left -- Dem/Republican. Those of us in the Republican Womon's Club could sit there and watch out neighbors and figure out what their political preferences were. (Snookie Smith voted in the Dem Primary -- pass it on.)
