The illegal production of alcohol proceeded prohibition and went on long after it's appeal. Yes Prohibition increased it greatly. It still goes on today in certain pockets around the South. There were always people around who wanted to beat the alcohol taxes and get around the law.

I've actually never tasted illegal alcohol. I've never had moonshine, white-lighning, or home brew. Friends of mine who have had the stuff claim it's garbage. It's sole purpose it to get you drunk. It's not exactly Chivas Regal or a good micro-brew.

Moonshine and White Lightning are the same thing. Home brew is beer. I make some pretty fine beer myself and have tasted some pretty fine corn likker.

I have had some shine. Burns all the way down! As for Chevis, keep it. I can’t drink the stuff. If I can’t get a good single malt I prefer Famous Grouse to pretty much any blended malt.
