The 10th District Democrat finished June sitting on more than $792,000. Carneys second-quarter campaign finance report had not yet been published online early Thursday afternoon, but the numbers were provided to pa2010.com by his campaign.
Thats more than 71 times the money held by Republican Tom Marino; the former U.S. Attorney finished June with just over $11,000 in the bank. Carneys cash lead could prompt some political watchers to reevaluate Marinos prospect in the cheap, northeast Pennsylvania media market. The race is currently No. 6 on the pa2010.com Congressional Power Rankings. Carney raised about $203,000 between April 29 and June 30, his campaign said.
