Palin's 76% Favorable Among Republicans Tops Others
Gallup ^ | July 16, 2010 | Gallup

Posted on 07/17/2010 1:17:30 PM PDT by yongin

Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin is the best known and most positively rated of five possible contenders for the 2012 Republican presidential nomination. Her 76% favorable rating among Republicans is higher than those for Mike Huckabee, Newt Gingrich, Mitt Romney, and Bobby Jindal. Huckabee and Gingrich have similar 64% to 65% favorable ratings among Republicans, Romney has a lower 54% rating, and Jindal, less well known even to Republicans, has the lowest positive rating of the five.

None of these politicians has officially announced a bid for the 2012 Republican nomination, although Gingrich has recently indicated that he is thinking seriously about it. Still, the other four have maintained visible public profiles: Palin, Huckabee, and Romney, through media appearances and endorsing 2010 GOP candidates for Congress; and Jindal, in managing his state's response to the Gulf oil spill. All but Jindal have political action committees that have been actively raising money in recent months. At this point, Palin, Romney, and Gingrich have similar unfavorable ratings among Republicans, while Huckabee's and Jindal's are slightly lower.

Mitt Romney == Scott Brown. How’s that working out for you?

And now you have “the rest of the story”

Among All Americans, a Slightly Different Picture

Palin is the best known of the five to all Americans, but with a decidedly mixed image: 44% rate her favorably and 47% unfavorably. Her image is similar to that of former Speaker Gingrich, who has lower name recognition, but similar closely divided favorable and unfavorable ratings. The other three Republicans are not as well known, but are viewed more positively than negatively.

When people see Sarah as a leader, things will change.

If Sarah can convince the mushy middle that the Left/Media have lied to them about her, she’ll be the next President.

Uh-oh.

Pretty soon the keyboards will be a-flyin about how the Grand Old Party has been hijacked by hillbillies and white trash. I mean, come on, how could Republicans become even remotely beguiled by this gun-toting, moose-hunting everywoman?

The election was two years ago, so I am not sure how her opinion was at that time nationally. In the year since she has been out of the Governor’s mansion, she has been scored about the same, but she is not running for President. I am sure Obama would not have been ‘electable’ in summer 2006, but he beat out everyone else during 2008 campaign. We’ll see if she can change opinions in the process, assuming she runs.

Finally a poll which depicts the choice of REPUBLICANS!! The polls usually pushed by the mainstream media include everybody, which allows the liberals to choose the Republican nominee. Of course the Rinos fare well in that kind of polling.

Eeek! If that's our only hope, we have no hope.

I think he's got about an icecube's chance in Hell, though...;-)

That the key to the whole deal they don’t want to see Gov. Palin “campaign for herself.” If Sarah does she will stream roll any and all comers real quick. As many on here and elsewhere have stated Palin is a master at retail politics thats her A in the hole. Once Sarah get out on trail and “campaigning for herself” the false media image will crash and burn.

Sarah makes Liberal, anti-capitalism heads pop. They can’t stand her and have been saying for two years that she’s going to self-destruct and prove herself a fool.
Instead, it has been Mr. Biden (who she debated)that has proved he’s an idiot - Sarah continues to become more and more relevant (even and especially) compared to the pResident of the United States.

The election isn’t until 2012...would you mind saying who you think is the right person to run?
