I was not aware of the thread you just cited. Thanks for clearing that up. I am not a Facebooker. At any rate, I do not see anything about this on LTC West's home page. This tells me that he does not consider his involvement in CF having anything to do with politics. God bless him.

Levy's mother, Jo Ann, released this statement today:

...What I did do was express my concern about an upcoming event that I felt had been unnecessarily politicized. As a mother, I have zero patience for anyone attempting to make a political issue out of what is, quite simply, a life and death matter. The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is a nonprofit, not a political organization, and it is my strong feeling that no current candidates for office should be honored at Foundation events.

This statement seems to me to be very hypocritical. If anyone has politicized this issue, it is Mrs. Levy who has done so. She must have zero patience for herself. How uncouth to uninvite an honored guest due to a previously known candidacy! I wonder how many other past or present political guests she has 'allowed' to grace the foundation's presence.
