Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack says he has apologized to Shirley Sherrod, who resigned from her Agriculture Department job under pressure this week over a video showing her making comments about a white farmer.

I watched his performance on Fox. He said repeatedly that the White House had nothing to do with the call for Sherrod to resign. However, Sherrod said yesterday that she was told repeatedly on the phone that the White House was demanding her resignation. There is no way the White House wasn’t involved.
How on earth did a guy with a name like Vilsack make it into politics?
He is from Pittsburgh, which means you can have any sort of weird ethnic name and, so long as you are good at sucking-up to Democrats, it is not a problem.
