I’m old enough to remember what they did to Goldwater, and there was no Journolist then. Watergate the same.

Back then they all read the NYTimes and followed its angle on everything.

I read somewhere that the Democrats were betting on Pawlenty to get the VP nom. and were all ready with smear campaigns and op research geared toward trashing him. It took them a day or two to gain their bearings after her amazing speech at the convention and the first attack came from the Daily Kos with the lie that baby Trig was really her grandchild.

It didn't take long for the party led by the most inexperienced, unqualified empty-suit in the history of America to start the "She's Not Qualified To Be VP" campaign.
