As families leave the city, and state, some neighborhoods already suffering from the weak economy are left with fewer customers to sustain business.
Reporting from Phoenix
Every time a customer buys some of the large fabric tote bags from the Dollar Store at 43rd Avenue and Thomas Road, Najmuddin Katchi sees another piece of his business vanish.
The purchase of the briefcase-sized shoulder bags means that another one of Katchi's customers, mostly Latino immigrants, is packing to leave the state before what is touted as the nation's toughest law against illegal immigrants takes effect July 29.
Katchi's store isn't the only business suffering. The vast shopping center that holds his small shop is almost empty. The Food City supermarket closed this spring. Then the furniture shop. Then the pizzeria.

Not a problem. As soon as the illegals and the business owners that support illegals are gone, the Americans will come back and business will boom.
To: mdittmar
Looks like the law is working and its still a week from implementation
Hey illegals! Make a left at I10 and go a few hundred miles. Los Angeles will welcome you with open arms

what is touted as the nation's toughest law against illegal immigrants They can "tout" all they want, but isn't it a virtual copy of Missouri law and Virginia law?

"The law requires police to check the immigration status of people they lawfully stop and also suspect are in the country illegally." Gee, just imagine what the effect would be if there was a law allowing cities/states to immediately deport any and all illegal scumbag aliens as soon as they were caught, and shoot them if they dared return illegally? Couple that with making welfare recipients work in the fields, and shazam! Two problems solved at once.

VA should adopt the same law, assuming that they can obtain the same result.

Who says all of this is because of fleeing illegal aliens? Sounds like just another day in the Obamaconomy to me.

Yep, life involves risk. Basing a business plan on making a profit on something illegal extends that risk. Apparently someone flunked Common Sense 101.

Flee right back to Mexico and don't come back unless it's through the proscribed, legal method.
Because it's going to get worse for you illegals...much worse as true border security is implemented.
