Former Minnesota Sen. Norm Coleman reportedly is considering a run for chairmanship of the Republican National Committee and has begun talking to associates about taking on Michael Steele should the embattled current chairman seek another term in January. Coleman plans to attend the RNC's summer meeting next month in Kansas City, Mo., in part to be on hand for a tribute to longtime New Jersey Committeeman David Norcross, who is stepping down from his party post. But senior Republicans say Coleman's appearance will allow him to meet the party members who will pick the next chairman and signal to them that he's interested in the job.

I'm not saying Coleman is the best replacement, but even Steele can't believe that he has any sort of chance for a second term as party chair.

Please go away, Norm.

The fact that you were close in votes to the clown communist AlFranken shows to me that you were probably close to him in ideology, too.

Lessee if the self-proclaimed GOP "leadership" can get this.

*NO* ... *MORE* ... *RINOs*!!!!

Who cares, the bottom line is the guy wasn’t smart enough to beat Jesse Ventura and Al Franken.

I don’t think he stopped being a Democrat. Maybe the RNC should be abolished. It would be better than what we have now.

Unless Ken Blackwell could be convinced to seek the job again, I'd rather Steele stay there than any of the names mentioned that actually have a chance. At least he's impartial...just incompetent.

Norm Coleman wants the job to push Pawlenty. James Bopp wants the job to push Romney. Newt will undoubtedly have a proxy in the fight. No, no and no.

Note to RNC: Quit screwing around and get Sarah Palin, Michelle Bachman or Liz Cheney in there. The girls can get the job done. There’s too much at stake. We need someone with “a set” in there and it’s obvious none of the boys have em,so get the ladies in there!
