Van Jones: Stop worrying about the deficit. Government can just take more money from rich companies

LAS VEGAS, NV — While the federal government sinks deeper into debt than any time since World War II, former White House “green jobs” adviser Anthony Van Jones said it was time to stop worrying about budget deficits and pressure Washington to take more money from American businesses to fund larger social and infrastructure projects.

“This is a rich country. We have plenty of money, and if you don’t believe me, ask Haliburton,” Jones told a group of progressive bloggers and activists at the Netroots Nation convention Friday. “There’s plenty of money out there; don’t fall into the trap of this whole deficit argument.”

“The only question is how to spend it,” he added.

Clever con men have to likable or they will not succeed, examples are Van Jones, Joe Biden.

I think the same of Joe Biden. I think he’s a common thug that has risen above his level. He would just as easily be in a criminal syndicate in Baltimore, slapping the back of the cops on the beat and going to charity events.

Simple enough - bring Van Coward on 'This Week' and have him square off with George Will on economics and taxation.

George Will would eat Van Jones' lunch in 3 minutes flat.

"I can’t stand it," Jones said of criticism of Obama from the Left. "President Obama volunteered to be the captain of the Titanic after it hit the iceberg."

Awww, someone is still butthurt from having Glenn Beck's foot wedged in his ass...

Franco was really more of a neo-monarchist, which is quite different from a fascist, and of course was very religious. He didn’t engage in the sort of cult of personality / state worship that Hitler and Mussolini propagandized.

Read somewhere he encouraged the hard core fascist ideologies to volunteer to help Hitler on the eastern front where they were, as is knew they would be, chewed up. Don't know the details however, do you?

You’re getting beyond my knowledge of the history there. Sounds very pragmatic, though.

On a related note, if you’ve never read Orwell’s Homage to Catalonia, on his time fighting in the Spanish Civil War, I highly recommend it. It is a short read, and shows what happens when a Leftist encounters hardcore Leftists. (spoiler - he almost gets killed as a not-true-enough believer)

Quite the wake up call.

On a related note, see my tagline.

This is at the heart of our current issues.

This, my friends, is the looter’s view of the world. When things are going bad, the thing to do isn’t to try and fix what’s causing it, but to look for other people to loot.

Another good book is “The Breaking Point: Hemingway, Dos Passos, and the Murder of Jose Robles.” Dos Passos was the leading liberal writer of the time. His mentor, Robles, was murdered in Spain. Hemmingway sold out to Stalin’s Popular Front while Dos Passos did not. Book tells of how Hemmingway was hung-over/drunk before a speech he was about to give at Madison Square Garden in support of the Popular Front. He told Dos Passos if he didn’t do it, his career would be over.

And in my next job, as a lead character, in the revival of the Munsters, I won’t pay them again.

No Van, he said “ that was fun, lets go find a bigger one, don’t worry about that water coming in, it will cool us off”

Levin mentioned on his show last week that the Zero Admin is eyeing the cash that companies have on hand. It’s such a coincidence that VanJones is talking about seizing it./sarc
