MSNBC and talk radio host Ed Schultz delivered his address to the progressive congregation of bloggers at the Netroots Nation conference, and he had some strong words for the White House. Alluding to the Shirley Sherrod fiasco, Schultz quipped that the White House must have a sissy room, and that despite the fact that he busted my ass for Obama, the President visited Special Report with Bret Baier, in my time slot.....
But the sharpest attack was about President Obama himself, and it was, specifically, for never agreeing to be on The Ed Show:
I busted my ass for Obama. I mean, I took my radio show on the road, I did town halls, talked to people and President Obama, you dont come to Ed he goes to Bret Baier on Fox News, in my time slot. Now, my shows going to be ok, but if you were in my position, would you say, whats that all about? Loyalty.
Devoting so much time to attacking President Obama and implying that he has betrayed the people that elected him seems a strange line of attack at a progressive conference, especially in light of the continuous assault under which the White House has been from the right, between Sherrod and the New Black Panthers and criticism for the oil spill, the economy, and, to a lesser extent, foreign affairs. The argument that Obama is a traitor because he hasnt been on MSNBC enough isnt really one that has risen organically among members of the left and, as Gawkers Jim Newell explains, there is a rationale behind Obamas very, very rare interview with Baier in March: The interview with Baier came immediately before the final health care vote in March. This was at a point when Democratic support for passage had consolidated to nearly 90% while many independents, some of whom watch Fox News, were still quite leery.

Last week Ed was calling for all elected Democrats to ban FNC, not go one it. They tried that Ed, it didnt work!
Even Obama is smart enough to figure out that going on that lunatic’s show would make him look worse than he already is.
First Breitbart, now Obama
Hey Sgt Schultz . . . maybe no one thinks your low-rated show is worth it
LOL
Without looking it up I can say that ED’s main advertiser is Zoloft.
Not much fun being a progressive these days. No one watches you.
Cat fight. Cat fight.
Ed is Red
Obama and Schulz on the same program would result in moron overload.
Obama isn’t stupid.
No one watches Mr. Ed’s program, in addition Schulz is a nut.
The people would end up only seeing selected clips of the Obama appearance on the program, and those would undoubtably be the most awkward ones.
Obama couldn’t avoid awkward moments with Mr. Ed, no one could, the guy is just too off the wall.
Gee Ed maybe Obama wanted someone to actually see it?
Sorry there Eddie boy, you have outlived your usefulness. To the curb with you...
Maybe Special Ed should write a letter to der fuhrer. I understand Hitler was always open to suggestions. LOL
Edward Murrow literally rolled over in his grave at his comment.
It sounds like Lindsey Graham isn’t the only one lobbying for a date to the prom.
They need the same disdain as a child molester.
Whenever Obama is on a liberal show the viewers do not notice the host. They are slobbering and suffering leg-twitches as their master delivers his latest edicts.
I remember once listening to Schultz, who had a couple of points with a few interviews. I thought there was a chance of his being somewhat reasonable. But as his position in broadcasting grew in exposure, he has lost his objectivity. He’s no longer sane.
Perhaps, some day, he will wake up.
Ed, you fat ass, simian intellectual.
You don’t matter.
It’s been that way all your life. Accept it.
