While waiting for your next bus, you may have an urge to prepare yourself to wait for Jesus. Bus benches around Colorado Springs say: "Save the Date: Return of Christ, May 21, 2011."
Marie Exley of Colorado Springs paid for these ads with her own money after seeing a similar billboard in Texas even though she's in between jobs.
"I decided to try to go out on my own and do what I could to get the message out myself," says Exley.
She says her job until Judgment Day is to spread the word.
"It's basically by faith I'm going out there and putting myself out there and allow people to think I'm crazy. I'm sure people in Noah's days thought he was crazy," says Exley.
The ads were made by the people who created the website WeCanKnow.com, based out of Ohio. The site is dedicated to telling people of the return of Jesus Christ.
A spokesperson for the website says the date comes from the Bible and having an understanding of God's Word as He reveals it to people.
Jerry Jenkins co-authored the fictional "Left Behind" book series, which chronicles the Earth's final days. Jenkins says he believes we should also be ready for the return of Christ, but he doesn't believe in a set date.
"If Jesus himself doesn't know when He's returning, I don't think we know either," says Jenkins. "I think its folly to predict the timing, but yeah, I think it's a great discussion and I applaud anyone who brings up the subject."
The bus benches in Colorado Springs will be up for about three months.
As you wait for your next bus, save the date. By the way, May 21, 2011 is a Saturday.
Cool. I’ll bring the water.
He’s going to interrupt the celebration of the 130th anniversary of the founding of the American Red Cross. Jesus should reschedule his return for the next day.
But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.
Even Christ did not know, the ONLY one who does know is God, the Father. I think God can keep secrets a wee bit better than this group supposes. I'm still trying to figure out how Harry Reid is still in office.
This is the website..
Maybe they are trying to be like *Noah*
Noah knew G-dwould flood the world but not the day...
Many know we are in the time/Season of Christ’s return but not the day.....
“It’s basically by faith I’m going out there and putting myself out there and allow people to think I’m crazy. I’m sure people in Noah’s days thought he was crazy,” says Exley
I knew Noah. Noah was a friend of mind. Your are no Noah.
Well, I hope for her sake that He does, or she has forever marked herself as a kook.
It sounds like she just made up the date.
A few years ago a local talk show had a preacher on who told everyone the year and the month, but couldn't narrow it down any further than that. Fortunately for us his time as passed.
Dude. You are not supposed to be so reasonable in the face of a definitive bus bench advertisement paid for a nutcase telling you when the world will end.
Fatalism.
IMHO- I just think so many people are tired, weary and disgusted with the world and it’s evil, they are so anxious for Jesus to come-back (We all are) that they are trying to figure out the exact day he is coming so they don’t lose hope.
However Jesus reminded us of this passage:
Matthew 10:22 “You will be hated by all because of My name, but it is the one who has endured to the end who will be saved...
I do think (JMO) that the Tribulation might start this September-Rosh Hashana...
I agree and certainly not wise!
Besides it being two days before my birthday, I know she’s wrong! ;)
Really hate to break it to them, but Matthew 24:36 states quite emphatically:
But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.
Ha! Well, there’s one thing we know for sure — it won’t happen on THIS date!
Agree - not sure of the year, this or next, but that’s the season.
That would be the date a person would pickAmen !

if they read the Holy Word of G-D.
That is if it is with the illumination of the Holy Spirit.
