Colorado Governor: Tancredo’s Entry Splits GOP Vote
Rasmussen ^

Posted on 08/03/2010 10:08:34 AM PDT by Chet 99

Tom Tancredo’s entrance into the Colorado governor’s race cuts substantially into support for the two Republican hopefuls and gives Democrat John Hickenlooper a double-digit lead. But overall support for Hickenlooper remains where it’s been for months.

The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of Likely Voters in Colorado finds Hickenlooper with 43% support against embattled GOP contender Scott McInnis who picks up 25% of the vote. Tancredo, a former Republican congressman running on the Constitution Party ticket, gets 24%.

If businessman Dan Maes is the Republican in the race, Hickenlooper leads with 42% to Maes’ 27% and Tancredo’s 24%.

Tancredo peels away one-third of the GOP vote no matter which Republican candidate he faces. Hickenlooper and Tancredo each pick up about one-third of voters not affiliated with either major party, while McInnis and Maes earn about 20% of that vote.

TancrEGO just handed the Dems the Governor's mansion.

I really expect his support will dwindle down toward 10% by the general, but that'll be enough to give it to the Dems. Jerk.

The stench of Tancredo making sure a Denver Socialist is elected Governor with a minority of the vote.

It's all about Tom Tancredo. So long has he gets to bloviate throughout the campaign, election results be damned.

Tom Tancredo - the BEST thing to ever happen to Colorado Democrats.

If you are not suppporting Tancredo...you will be supporting Illegal Aliens....guaranteed

Sad is that we will have 3 months of “3d party vote is a vote for a Democrat” Liberal RINO nonsense.

The GOP problem is not Tancredo....its running weak Liberal RINO candidates.

"If businessman Dan Maes is the Republican in the race, Hickenlooper leads with 42% to Maes’ 27% and Tancredo’s 24%. "

The Dem can barely get over 40%, yet he's going to win. That's frustrating.

Scott McGennis has a problem the same as Ward Churchill as he claimed to have written a water report for $300,000 which part of was copied form a Court Justice. The GOOP was stubborn and dismissed Trncredo so he took off on his own. I can not vote in the primary because I am registered as an unaffiliated and they will not let me vote.

Republican Dan Maes supported citizenship for illegal immigrants Aliens when he entered the governor's race more than a year ago.

Another RINO weasel !

The real reason Tancredo is running....

Sad that so much criticism for Tancredo....those who support either of the GOP are supporting Illegal Alien Amnesty.

Notice that Tancredo’s foes only mention about his “ego”....that was the big part of the article from the LIBERAL DENVER PAPER.

If you are not supporting Tancredo...you will be supporting Illegal Aliens and Liberals

Sounds a bit like Massachusetts. Our Governor (”Coupe Deval”),who's “of color” *and* an old friend of Hussein The Blessed, has approval ratings in the 30’s these days. But a few months ago, miraculously,a top RAT officeholder announced he was leaving the RAT Party and that he'll run to the *right* (not the left) of Coupe Deval. So today, the polls show that Coupe Deval would get about 40% of the vote and the other two would equally split the rest.

Maes and McInnis both have problems and will lose to Hickenlooper. Same if Tancredo in as a third party candidate. Only way it works is if the election is Tancredo vs Hickenlooper with no Republican candidate. Not likely to happen though.

Bottom line is Governor Hickenlooper and sanctuary state.
