‘Racist police’ claim mars Obama holiday in Spain

As Michelle Obama takes her daughter Sasha to Marbella for a mini-break, the US State Department has been forced to disown travel advice it issued warning that African-American tourists could be targeted by racist Spanish policemen . . .
The advice page said two African-American US government employees have "recently" been "questioned by police in Barcelona for no apparent reason". One was detained, the page said, and "suffered physical injuries in the process".
However, the page now carries no such warning the offending paragraph has presumably been removed by an embarrassed State Department after press reports drew it to their attention. The original version of the page can still be seen here, thanks to Google's cache, while the newly-revised version is here . . .
Contacted by Spanish daily El Pais, the US embassy in Madrid played down the advice. It said the Barcelona incident had "happened a long time ago" (though the advice page said "recently") . . .
"We are in no way suggesting that Spanish police are racist," an embassy spokesperson added. "This was an isolated incident." . . .

What's up with Michelle going to Spain with one of her kids? I understand her younger daughter is attending camp. Though they could have all gone as a family at a later date, why was it so important for ‘Chelle to go now with one kid and a gaggle of family/friends in tow?
Why did Michelle leave obummer at home, when his birthday is coming up on 8-4?
Was this her gift to him, so he could have some fun with some of his gay boys?
She IS so thoughtful...

Maybe Spain should “send back them” as Mexico’s president does not non-resident foreign travellers.

Anyone else notice that they seem more concerned with offending African Americans, rather than just Americans?

The State Dept. does not have to worry about Michelle. The Spanish Police are not questioning or interested in Wookies.

My Friend, you turned over a rock never mentioned before. I’ve never considered the abominable influence of the good Rev. I can think of instances where his rants would be considered abuse of the first order.

Some American travelers naively believe their constitutional rights extend into foreign locales. A few years ago some U.S. Code Pink dingbats decided to stage a street demonstration in Pakistan. They were promptly thrown in jail. Hopefully they experienced an epiphany. Upon release they fled for their lives back to the U.S.

Maybe the Spanish police have noticed something that no one in America is allowed to say out loud.

We are in no way suggesting that Spanish police are racist," an embassy spokesperson added. What the embassy spokesperson should have said, is "The Spanish police are certainly no more racist than Shirley Sherrod or the NAACP".

Several years ago I was returning to the US from Madrid Barajas Airport and while passing through security noticed Guardia Civil thoroughly checking about a dozen Middle Eastern passengers off to the side. They were being interviewed individually, shoes off and all of their luggage was open and being sorted through near the gates.
Gee - I wonder if they were being profiled.....(thankfully).

His alleged birthday - we don't know anything for sure about his nativity. :)

LOL!
Obama doesn’t follow the State Department warnings?
Isn’t it about time for him to go on vacation again?
