You know, someone brought this point up to me some years ago and I agree. I think that, based on my experience with MDs (and vets), veterinarians are actually better trained than a lot of MDs. Doctors who treat humans have to learn only about the human anatomy, nervous system, etc. whereas vets have to be knowledgeable about a whole spectrum of unique systems.

And their patients can’t tell them what is wrong!
Don’t forget....pets can’t tell the doc where it hurts or how they feel. It’s kinda like diagnosing babies and toddlers.
It is harder to vet into Vet school than it is to get into Medical school. Has been for a long time. OTOH, I have a neighbor who is a retired dermatologist. I ask him for advice on my dogs all the time because when he was in the Navy he took care of all the War Dogs at Great Lakes Naval Air Station.
