Reality Check: New ad for candidate White is misleading

With 75 days to go until early voting, Bill White, the Democratic candidate for governor, started airing his first TV ad in North Texas for the fall campaign. Most of the ad introduces White, the former Houston mayor, to voters in his race against Republican Gov. Rick Perry. But the commercial does make at least one claim that's misleading.

White knows he must become better known among North Texas voters, and his ad tries to frame him as a person and public servant with a vision. ”We're a great state, but we need to invest in the future,” White says in the ad. In a graphic, the commercial claims he has also been a “successful businessman.” But not so fast.

Now we're beginning to know who this person is. Very interesting. I'm staying with Perry.

No Dimturd running Texas. I don't care whether he's for or against borders. He's better then a dimturd anyday.

I might not put it just the way you did, but I’m voting Perry AGAIN also. I wish we could get a better slate of candidates.

He could claim to have the solutions for poverty, hunger, and world peace, but the second that the word “democrat” hits the screen, he loses all chance at getting any votes anywhere north of Dallas.

My favorite would be Jerry Patterson, who is now the Texas Land Commissioner. That's the third highest office in the state, and I think he's happy where he is, as he is running for that office again this year.

He's a very conservative family man, well liked by everyone I know.

Gov goodhair gives me the creeps, but I'll have to vote for him.

Now--if we could somehow get rid of Lloyd Doggshite, that would make me very happy!

Rumor is he was in with the Bamster to shut down oil refining in Texas. The Rats are trying to create as much economic chaos in Texas as possible. EPA on the refineries and shutting down drilling.

I wouldn't vote for the SOB if he were the only one running. Besides, he looks like the guy that ran the Heaven's Gate cult.

White is an A-hole sanctuary city proponent.

Illegals eveywhere thanks to him. Don’t be fooled by his Elmer Fudd persona.

His Daughter was arrested for Drunk Driving and he fixed it.

White - sanctuary city mayor, no voter photo ID, fairly moderate Dem, was mostly apolitical while running Houston city govt.

Goodhair - endorsed Guiliani in ‘08, talked tough about immigration, States rights (10th amendment) then suddenly lost his voice until he said TX doesn’t need law like AZ, shot coyote threatening his dog with .380 while hiking (should have carried a real pistol), tried to force cervical cancer immunizations on young girls, tried to give away landowner properties to the supersuper highway that nobody wanted except the elites, hasn’t helped get appraisal caps in place, 10 years as governor.

I would sit this one out if it weren’t for the census apportionment business coming up next year and how the Dems would crow if they captured our guvship. Plus the last time I sat one out, Anne Richards was elected. Goodhair is scared of the pro wetback vote, so he is keeping a low profile; not an admirable trait for a “leader”. In spite of how much the Kenyan is despised in TX, I believe this race is closer than most people believe.

You forgot that Perry is bought-off by the homebuilders that employ the illegal alien labor.
