Obama Lauds Passage of Kenyan Constitution As Critics Slam Its Abortion Rights Stand

President Obama on Thursday praised the passage of Kenya's new constitution, which was approved by an overwhelming majority amid claims that the United States improperly meddled in promoting passage of the document, which contains controversial abortion language.

Obama applauded the Kenyan people for approving the document and conducting a "peaceful, transparent and credible" vote.

But the administration has come under fire from a few House Republicans for its role in the referendum. Rep. Chris Smith, R-N.J., last month accused the White House of illegally funding a campaign to approve language that would loosen restrictions on abortion in Kenya.

The Kenya Constitution would allow abortion under certain circumstances, such as when the life of the mother is at risk. However, a federal law makes it illegal for the U.S. government to lobby on abortion overseas -- Smith cited a report by the U.S. Agency for International Development that estimated more than $23 million in taxpayer funds were spent on the referendum.

Does this mean his cousin, Odinga, will not be chasing christians around with chain saws and burning down their churches while they are locked inside?

Officials highlighted the peaceful nature of the process after ethnically charged violence left more than 1,000 people dead following the disputed 2007 presidential election.

I wonder if this constitution had that language about instituting Sharia law for certain groups?

You are asking why he worships at the holy grail of the Democrat party? Because if you can turn the miracle of creation into a undesirable tissue mass then you deny that each person has a soul created in the image of God. Therefore there is no God. If there is no God then there are no consequences for any action you take. Depravity becomes boundless.

Because man was created in God’s image and the more babies he can destroy the more of God’s Image he can claim to have mauled from the face of the Earth.

Remember when we had Presidents who never even mentioned Kenya?

Was that back in the days when we didn't give immigration preference to places like Somalia, allowing the FBI to concentrate on criminals already here?

I'm still reading but here's the impression I've gotten so far:

1) The new constitution expands Islamic courts.

2) It severely restricts the power of the President. Remember, Odinga is the Prime Minister, appointed after he lost the election. He was appointed because he threatened to let his followers keep killing if he wasn't. If the President loses power I'll bet the PM picks some up.

3) Many Christian leaders were against it. The threat of renewed violence against them has gone up. The crowds were shouting ‘traitors’ at religious leaders that opposed the constitution.

4) There will be a purge of the coalition government of ministers that opposed it. There is some weird deal in the peace accords that even if the minority factions pull out it doesn't trigger new elections. Only the President and PM can do that.

Hopefully someone who is better versed in these topics can straighten out any errors I made.

The media conveniently forgets to report how Odinga’s and his cousin Obama’s Luao tribe committed genocidal murderous rampage against entire villages in 2007.

So....wait a minute....is he President of the US or of Kenya?

Kenya tell me where his BC is...maybe he is SO delusional he thinks he’s President of Kenya and that’s why his agenda is SO totally screwing us.

Why is he SO determined to kill babies?

Because he is a self-hating black. The population of Kenya is mostly black so he wants to bring Planned Parenthood to Kenya to ply its trade amongst the populace.

H*ll, he knew that only 50% of black children conceived in America ever make it out of the womb alive, so he doubled the funding for Planned Parenthood!

is he President of the US or of Kenya?

It's a nuanced difference. In one country he pushed for a new constitution, in the other he just ignores it.

Why is 0bama so deeply involved in Kenya’s affairs?
You’d almost think he’s more focused on Kenya than America...
