A message in a bottle written by the mother of a British soldier killed in Afghanistan has been found by workers cleaning up the Gulf of Mexico oil spill.
Sarah Adams, 43, was on holiday in Barbados when she wrote the loving message about her son Private James Prosser, 21, who was killed by a roadside bomb.
She threw it into the sea and after floating 1,300 miles it was fished out of the water by workers cleaning up the oil leak from the BP pipeline in the Gulf of Mexico. The workers were so moved by Mrs Adams' message they wrote to her to pay their own tribute to her son.

So true.
It could have been much worse.I saw another article in the Daily Mail where a sapper just home from Afghanistan was denied service at a store because he was in uniform.
Finding this bottle was one good thing caused by the BP oil spill crisis. Prayers for the son and Mum.
Indeed, God Bless them all.
No word on the person who refused to serve the returning vet but I would be willing to guess, they are Amish.
God help me pay my legal bills if I ever witness a situation like that. I'll start screaming and threatening to say the least.
I noticed no comments after article yet. I suspect some FReepers may have a word or two to say.
A hero soldier who had just arrived home from a tour of Afghanistan was refused service at a supermarket after being told they didn’t serve people in army uniform.
Sapper Anthony Walls, of the 21 Engineer Regiment, popped into the Co-op in Croydon for some beers after a gruelling 34-hour journey from Kandahar.
The 27-year-old, said it was his ‘first hour back in the real world’ after dodging Taliban bullets for the past four-and-a-half months helping build ‘the most dangerous road in Afghanistan’.
But when he arrived at the till to pay he was met with a blank stare from the cashier, who refused to serve him and called for her manager.
When the manager turned up he told him he ‘couldn’t do anything about it’ and refused to serve him while he was in uniform.
The comments are piling up now...
good,I think I will go add on.
I wonder if this has happened in recent years here in the U.S.???
Would not surprise me, but then again if it did, it certainly wouldn’t stand for long...
The towns around big bases, like Ft. Hood, Camp Pendleton, Virginia Beach/Norfolk/San Diego, etc etc etc, just don’t have an outlying community these days that doesn’t support the service members that work and deploy from there...
England is an entirely different world though...
One would think they being so liberal, they would demand no one be denied service at a store.
From the comments it appears this sapper will never have to buy anothe beer in his life.
It’s an outrage how this man in the U.K. was treated.
By the way, could someone enlighten me....
What is a “sapper?”
Combat engineer
Were those who refused service Muzzies? Maybe merely liberals. Just guessing.
T%he primary characteristic of a “liberal” is illiberality.
Traditionally used for all members of the Royal Engineers. Derived from the 'saps', covered trenches or tunnels used in siege warfare.
