You say you are of a different opinion, but everything you wrote agrees with what I said.
If the player can work his religious practices around his job, fine. If he can’t, he needs to find another way to make a living.
And this has nothing to do with players praying before a game.
Sorry, I misread it. I agree completely.
If I was Vikings’ owner, and I felt the job was not getting done, then I would be willing to test the Supreme Court on this.
I respect all religions, except when people’s religious activity impacts my life. I have no desire to move around my schedule to accomodate other people’s prayer times.
This effected me in my company, during Ramdan, a Muslim guy had to leave early because of time to break his fast. His manager sent me detailed info regarding that, so somehow I was supposed to stay in late.
I replied to that email, and copied everyone and joked that I can’t be there, because I have to go my Satan Worship around that time as well.
I was trying to make the point that they have no right to ask me to accomodate other people’s religion. That guy took it as an insult and reported me to HR.
I told them I have emails, go ahead, make my day, make me a celebrity. Fire me because I have to step up for people who are out praying.
They didn’t! ;o)
