Georgia GOP Congressman Kingston to Palin: Butt Out of GOP Primaries
Cubachi ^ | 08/11/2010 | Cubachi

The good old boys just don’t get it.

Jason Mattera of Human Events, captured Georgia Congressman John Kingston this morning giving a sexist and blatantly stupid tirade against Sarah Palin for her endorsement of Karen Handel who lost a very close primary in Georgia last night.

Appearing on “America’s Morning News” with John McCaslin and Amy Holmes, Georgia Republican Rep. Jack Kingston urged Sarah Palin to stay clear of endorsing candidates in the primaries. “What she’s doing is dividing the Republican Party at a time when we don’t need to be divided…

He continued: “Karen Handel is a very decent candidate, but she’s clearly the more moderate person in the race.” Asked by the talk-show hosts if Palin should just butt out of primaries in general, Kingston replied, “I wish she will.”

“Everyone in the [Georgia gubernatorial] race was solidly conservative, and Sarah Palin comes in and endorsed the moderate,” Kingston said. To some, Handel is perceived insufficiently conservative on social issues involving abortion and child adoption by gay couples.

Last time I checked, Mitt Romney endorsed Karen Handel as well, yet Kingston’s rant was targeted to Sarah Palin. What is his problem with a strong woman endorsing another strong and capable conservative woman? It is suspect that Kingston just singles out Sarah Palin for this inane commentary.

This is the problem with the establishment GOP. They have a foot-in-the-mouth disease when it comes to conservatives. Kingston is either jealous that Sarah Palin did not endorse him, or he’s just that stupid. Erick Erickson of Red State, a conservative stalwart, endorse Karen Handel. Does Kingston think he’s a mushy moderate?

I hope conservatives will condemn this rant by Kingston. Really, to single out a woman out of all the conservatives that endorsed Handel is beyond the pale.

Jack Kingston has been in Congress for 18 years. Career politician. And from the sound of the clip, he is not the brightest bulb in the closet, either. Only an absolute idiot would come out and attack the star of the Republican Party and suggest she alone is not competent to endorse when other including Romney and Huckabee were involved in this race as well.

For those of you who don't know, Kingston is in the GOP leadership in the House. (It shows how badly a shakeup is needed there.) According to his Wiki Biography, Kingston is a frequent guest on shows such as The Colbert Report, HBO's Real Time with Bill Maher, and TV news shows. So slamming Palin will win him friends among that crowd.

His rant is in the following clip:

It begins at 3:55 of the clip.

He says Palin shoots from the hip and that it hurts Sarah Palin. He sounds like Jimmy Carter to me.

Kingston can be contacted at the link below.

Kingston also criticized Palin when she stumped for Saxby Chambliss in 2008.

Oh wait, you said he didn't? No one from the establishment said s--t when Palin did that? Just the GA crickets singing in the moonlight?

Don’t know about the rant; but Sarah’s ‘hand’ not always a guaranteed blessing. That said; it may be her MO that has riled him; but always liked Jack Kingston.

“Dividing the Republican Party” isn’t what’s needed; “Dismantling the Republican Party” is what needs to be done.

To: Brices Crossroads; everyone
I want to thank all of my friends, supporters, volunteers and my campaign team for a tremendous effort over the last 16 months. We ran a terrific campaign, beat the odds to come in first place in the Primary, and came so very close in the runoff election.

As of this morning, we are four tenths of a percentage point behind Nathan Deal with absentee ballots and overseas military votes yet to be counted.

We certainly have the option of requesting the automatic statewide recount. But we are not going to do that.

The best thing for our party is to rally around Congressman Deal as our nominee in the fight against Roy Barnes. Barnes would return Georgia to a past that is best kept in our rearview mirror. We must marshal all of our resources to defeat him.

I spoke with Nathan this morning and let him know that I endorse his candidacy and look forward to the fight against Barnes. I have also called on all who were supporting me to give their same.

Karen Handel, this morning, August, 11, 2010.

Snip... Kingston is either jealous that Sarah Palin did not endorse him, or he’s just that stupid.

Why can't he be both.

Very classy concession by Karen Handel. Once again, Palin proves to be a superlative judge of character.

So the loser who wrote this piece is saying that because Kingston didnt mention Romney that his mentioning Sara was sexist? Are we going to start acting like democrats now and accusing people of isms if they dont like who we like?

It's a primary. We get behind the winner. No 3rd party this time. Its too important and very urgent.

Connect the dots.

Election-backstabber Romney endorses Jack Kingston

"(The GroundZero Mosque) cleared its final hurdle ….
developers plan to build the $100 million center which will include a mosque.
Since its incipient stages in July 2009, when a Muslim-run real-estate development
company purchased the damaged, vacant building and land where the new center
will be built, the project has sparked controversy and debate.
.... the tattered building that was bought by the Muslim real estate company had
been owned by a subsidiary of Bain Capital, a company Romney founded in 1984.

So it’s OK if his company can profit off the sale of the land ."

Not only did Kingston not criticize Palin for stumping for Chambliss, he appeared on stage with her at the rallies. He was a speaker in at least one of the rallies.

Here's the difference: Palin stumped for Saxby in the general election runoff. Some people are having a problem with Palin endorsing candidates in the GOP primaries and those runoff elections.

I don't. Some do...and while I feel certain that she can mend fences with Deal and would stump for him against the former Democrat Governor Roy Barnes in the general election if asked, it appears that she's ticked some Republican voters off.

The enemy at politico had a different take than Jack Kingston. Politico said that Sarah's recent loses, including Handel's have come from her endorsing the more conservative side in the races: Tennessee for congressional hopeful CeCe Heil and in Kansas, where Senate candidate Todd Tiahrt lost to the more moderate candidate, Moran backed by McCain and the good ole' boys.

Go figure.

“I don't think you can really tie the Palin and Handel one together. But for Palin, Handel probably would not have gotten into the runoff, and had she been able to come to Georgia this past Friday instead of Monday, Handel probably would have won,” said Erick Erickson, the founder of RedState and a longtime Georgia politico.
