Is the race card finally worn out?

'The race card is maxed out."

That was the punch line for a re cent hilarious exchange on "The Daily Show" in which Larry Wilmore, the faux news program's "senior black correspondent," reported that the race card is not only over its credit limit but is in fact "void during a black presidency." This discovery came in the wake of Maxine Waters' allegation that her political problems stem from a racially biased congressional ethics investigation.

Wilmore said he should have seen this coming, given that "the Congressional Black Caucus has been overusing the race card for years." Like when it circled the wagons around Rep. William Jefferson. The CBC in effect argued it'd be no big deal if a white congressman had been videotaped receiving a $100,000 bribe and if the FBI then found most of it in his freezer. Singling out a black congressman for this sort of thing, Wilmore jokes, amounts to punishing Jefferson for "Legislating While Black."

Of course, Wilmore (a great comic talent) is joking, but not everyone is laughing. Waters, the representative for South Central Los Angeles since 1991, is one of America's premier racial hucksters. A notoriously nasty piece of work, she sided with the murderous rioters in what she called the post-Rodney King verdict "rebellion" and danced the electric slide with the Crips and the Bloods. (Who says she's not bipartisan?) So it's hardly surprising that she'd lump all of her problems on Whitey.

Was a great comedy piece. Finally, the liberal establishment begins to understand the constant race antics. Glad that this is finally coming to roost...

Can’t wait for the NCAPP’s race card though...it will be such a refreshingly different card...heh. Oh well, it will now at least be funny to watch.

Damn...can’t we all just get along!

Fox Liberal commentator Kirsten Powers spouted the same line last night on Special Report. She was serious.

I was just about throwing things at the TV.

I also couldn’t believe no one took her to the woodshed for such racial hatemongering.

If a Republican(s) was pushing to have Waters or Rangel investigated, The Daily Show would NOT joke that the race card was maxed out. The show is full of liberals, and pushes a liberal agenda.

We all knew going in that the Obama Presidency was sold with the marketing gimmick that he was the ‘post-racial’ President, but that he turned out to be what Rush called
‘the most-racial’ President. The race card has come so thick and fast in the last few months, and is played so shamelessly , that it’s finally dawned on many Liberals that it simply makes them appear stupid to countenance it.
Like everything else with this desperate Administration, they’ve overreached SO far with it, that they may have damaged themselves FOREVER with their “get in on the ground-floor,make History, celebrate Identity Politics once again but for the LAST time” ploy. And the latest development, that of entering the fray (finally) with the Ground Zero Mosque issue, has PROVED just how out-of-touch , even as classically conniving two-faced Politicians they are: they only have ONE face, and it’s the WRONG face.

It’s beginning to get antiquated, like BankAmericard and Master Charge. Other liberal hobby horse cards will surely pop up.

Kirsten gets this look on her face while spouting the liberal line these days. It’s almost as if she can hardly say it with a straight face. I was almost throwing things at the TV also.

Actually, I believe the punch line was "Sh*t! Invalid during a Black Presidency".

I would say, NO the race card is not worn out. I still need to use my race card. There are many others like me, who still have their under lock and key. I still haven’t accused my share of people of racism.

This presidency isn’t about race at all. The Ground Zero mosque isn’t about religion. The national health care bill isn’t about health. Free enterprise isn’t Capitalism.

We reflexively accept the Liberal Democrats’ terms and the argument is already won by them. Whoever controls the language controls thought.

The way to turn this around is to use words with precision - and use our own words.

Republican leaders - you hear me?
