(BUFFALO, NY) – Buffalo Developer and lawyer Carl Paladino said today that he would use the powers of eminent domain to stop a mosque from being constructed near the Ground Zero site in New York City.
“As Governor I will use the power of eminent domain to stop this mosque and make the site a war memorial instead of a monument to those who attacked our country,” Paladino said in a thirty second radio spot playing statewide beginning Wednesday evening.
A successful lawyer and developer who built and manages a half billion dollar commercial real estate portfolio, Paladino scoffed at critics who claim federal law prohibits his strategy to stop the Islamic mosque. “I’ve been driving land-use issues for 40 years, and I understand the full powers of the governor,” he said. “If the ACLU or anyone else wants to challenge me in court, I’m ready for the fight.”
“Andrew Cuomo supports the mosque,” Paladino said. “He says it is about religious freedom and he says the mosque construction should proceed. I say it is disrespectful to the thousands who died on 9-11 and their families, insulting to the thousands of troops who’ve been killed or injured in the ensuing wars and an affront to American people. And it must be stopped.”
“There is little to no democracy in the Middle East other than Israel. The Islamic fundamentalists are Fascists – women have limited rights, there is no free speech or freedom of expression, and citizens are subject to the often barbaric Sharia Law. I oppose a mosque near the site of Ground Zero, not because of race, but because of the ideology of the Islamic fundamentalists,” said Paladino.
Paladino, a Republican candidate for Governor of New York, kicked off an advertising campaign to rally statewide opposition to the proposed Islamic mosque at Ground Zero in New York City and called out Democrat candidate Andrew Cuomo for backing the divisive mosque.
Carl Paladino declared his candidacy for Governor of New York in Buffalo in April. He and Tom Ognibene, candidate for Lt. Governor, have petitioned their way into the Republican Primary and are canvassing also to create a Tea Party-oriented line – the Taxpayers Party.
All it would take is for something to be built that is for the public or generates revenue.

I am friends with a few moderate Muslims (or what some people would call “apostate Muslims”). Not a single one of them thinks the Ground Zero Mosque is a good idea. Most of them think it is highly provocative and understand the general American outrage.
Between this guy and Chris Christie to the south, perhaps the northeast is not so screwed after all.
Most people do not recognize that what happens in a mosque is sedition. Pure and simple. Islam is not just a “religion”, it is a cult, it is it’s own government, its judicial...is in its sharia, and its military (jihadis) all rolled into one with one intent ...and that is to rule wherever they take root. It is a invasive, systemic infection looking to take over the host once it has quantum.
This is not just a “religion”, but something that cloaks itself in those terms so it should not be given the same treatment contemplated under the first amendment. The Korans rules in Sharia are to consume whatever government there is wherever it goes. To supplant and replace.
The sooner America learns this , the better.
Obama? Obama and Company? Should be tried for treason in this issue for promoting the establishment of a foreign government on our soils. As a Muslim, he knows this, he knows sharia, but is looking to deceive America.

He’s a former Democrat who’s donated money to Schumer, Hillary, and John Kerry, among others. However, he has
wisely played this Mosque issue now for WEEKS in radio ads
run at least on WOR 770 AM, in the New York market.
I expect he’ll expand his ads to cover other things relevant to New York State, but for now, it’s just that.

while we cannot charge someone with believing in Islam, we can stamp out many Islamic practices that are dangerous or abusive. The First Amendment does not protect religious practices that are illegal or made illegal, it protects only the beliefs themselves.
And we can go much further at an organizational level, based on the Sedition Act of 1918 and the 1954 Communist Control Act , which give us some guidelines for cracking down on Islam.
The bill could have easily retrofitted some of the language of the Communist Control Act as follows;
Sec. 3. Islamic organizations, regardless of their assumed name, whose object or purpose is to overthrow the Government of the United States, or the government of any State, Territory, District, or possession thereof, or the government of any political subdivision therein by force and violence, are not entitled to any of the rights, privileges, and immunities attendant upon legal bodies created under the jurisdiction of the laws of the United States or any political subdivision thereof; and whatever rights, privileges, and immunities which have heretofore been granted to said party or any subsidiary organization by reason of the laws of the United States or any political subdivision thereof, are hereby terminated:
Sec. 4. Whoever knowingly and willfully becomes or remains a member of such organizations, or (2) any other organization having for one of its purposes or objectives the establishment, control conduct, seizure, or overthrow of the Government of the United States, or the government of any State or political subdivision thereof, by the use of force or violence, with knowledge of the purpose or objective of such organization shall be subject to all the provisions and penalties of the Internal Security Act of 1950

Why would he build a war memorial two full city blocks from ground zero? Shouldn’t the memorial be built AT ground zero, not blocks away?
And using emminent domain to stop a religious building? That’s a slippery slope indeed.

But they will tell you that privately and even post in on-line forums where they feel their anonymity is protected. It is about 60-70% which makes the other 30-40% look bad.
