San Diego sheriff’s deputies cuffed and removed several protesters at the County Clerk’s Office on the day that same-sex marriages were supposed to resume.

Deputies used plastic ties to cuff and remove a dozen protesters just before 10 a.m.

The group chanted “Gay, straight, black, white, marriage is a civil right!” and “David Butler, Do the right thing!” as they blocked the door to the clerk's office inside the County Administration Building.Deputies physically stopped several protesters from trying to enter the clerk’s office, telling them they couldn’t enter without an appointment and directing them to protest in the hallway.

“Gay, straight, black, white, marriage is a civil right!”

sure why not ...but only if a gay, straight, black, white man, marries a gay, straight, black, white woman.....

(yes gays get married...to the opposite sex, they do it all the time and since time immemorial)

“Gay, straight, black, white, marriage is a civil right!”

They have the same rights that I do. They want special rights based on behavior.

“They have the same rights that I do.”

Thanks for pointing this out! Every American has the same rights as every other - the fact that their personal sexual preferences may not be accommodated by traditional marriage is hardly the stuff of civil rights lawsuits.

Gays can already enter into legal and binding civil arrangements that have all the benefits of marriage. The fact that gay activists want to co-opt the term to get it to apply to them is nothing short of the goal of declaring homosexuality “normal”. What’s next? Bestiality? Pedophilia?

They are not satisfied with civil unions. And I am against them. Two of the same cannot join in any natural way. It’s impossible. And recognizing civil unions gives legitimacy to their simulated “joining”. Civil rights based on aberrant behavior is the stuff that destroys nations.

Polygamy is far sooner to be appealed for after same-sex marriage. Lawyers have appealed for its decriminalization. It’s really only a matter of time.

They don’t want rights, they want privileges. Call what they demand for what it is.

Marriage is not a civil right. Voting, free speech without government prosecution, freedom to worship or even make up your own religion, as well as the right to vote, are all Civil Rights. Their campaign is in no way comparable to the Civil Rights movement, where people of color were being denied by law the rights I just mentioned. The gay rights activists have enjoyed just about all the rights I just mentioned with comparatively little interference to their excercises thereof.
