US Navy rescues Iranian fishermen, returns to Iran

A ship with the U.S. Navy's Harry S. Truman Carrier Strike Group rescued eight Iranian fishermen from a burning ship in the Arabian Sea, gave them food, water and fresh clothing and delivered them to an Iranian naval vessel two days later...
They were transferred on Friday by small boat to the AKL Chiroo, an Iranian Navy Delvar class ship...
The United States and Iran have not had formal diplomatic relations since after Iran's 1979 Islamic revolution.

And remember, the people may not be slavish to governmental rule. Pretty sure this is much the case in Iran.

They might not be "new", but I think at least they are more certifiable now.
Iran is a beautiful country, from what I have seen online and in other photo sets. Some of it even looks like Seattle countryside. I would love to visit it, camera in hand, when they have a new government.
