I don't think anyone that was there would classify the area as anything other than "Ground Zero". The Religion of Hates' (ROH©) talking points are to make believe only the footprint of WTC deserves special status. (Although I'd bet they would love to build a mosque there too)
Andrew C. McCarthy's "The Grand Jihad" is a must read. by the way, the Imam's wife Daisy Khan, said on ABC's "This Week with Christiane Amanpour." Khan said she believed the project will ultimately be built on the original site.
When asked if she thought America had become "Islamophobic," Khan said it's beyond that, and quote, "it's hate of Muslims," adding "And we are deeply concerned." Meanwhile, New York Governor David Paterson remains hopeful that he can broker a deal to move the planned project away from the World Trade Center site.
Ms. Khan is deeply concerned?
Nine years of inactivity on the World Trade Center site is proof that the Islamists won the Battle of New York, whereas they lost the Battle of the Pentagon. Building this “cultural center” is simply icing on the cake. If the nit-wits in NY and DC had taken quick action to replace the WTC, this whole issue would never have gotten traction in the first place.
The Bush administration got sidetracked by “nation building” in Iraq, and no one in DC ever took 5th column efforts seriously (either public attacks such as building the madrassa in Potomac, MD, or stealth Mexican border incursions by those the Border Patrol calls “Other Than Mexican”. This war marks the second time since the War of 1812 that the U.S. has been invaded (if one ignores the constant stream of new Democrat voters coming over our southern border).

Most people do not recognize that what happens in a mosque is sedition. Pure and simple. Islam is not just a “religion”, it is a cult. Larger than that though, it is a political system, it is it’s own government, a economic system (which includes funding new mosque construction), its judicial...all wrapped up in the word sharia. This is inclusive of its military (jihadis) all rolled into one with one intent ...and that is to rule wherever they take root. It is a invasive, systemic infection looking to take over the host once it has quantum.
This is not just a “religion”, but something that cloaks itself in those terms so it should not be given the same treatment contemplated under the first amendment. The Korans Sharia rules are to consume whatever government there is wherever it goes.
Islam is political, and it’s goal is to supplant and replace. Globally.

Adherence to some philosophical/ideological dogma - The idea of “diversity” vs. a “melting pot,” the concepts of inclusiveness and equality vs. fairness, the idea that somehow it's unconstitutional or ethically wrong to profile even though that's the basis of how any law enforcement or intelligence largely work.
Some idea of what it means to be civilized - The idea that we apply a higher standard of care for terrorists than is necessary by international law, that these folks are not US citizens yet afforded US Constitutional rights nor are they enemy combatants yet many think they fall under the Geneva Convention; that we go after our own interrogators and restrict the use of those of the CIA; that we restrict the use of certain types of bunker busters, have tight rules of engagement, that we think everything requires the approval of some world community while half of them are bottom feeding and making money off these rouge states and groups etc...........
We will civilize ourselves out of existence. But we'll feel really good about ourselves.
The Ground Zero mosque is territorial marking, pure and simple. We must not allow the Moslem dog to pee upon ground hallowed by the dust of martyrs.
It truly is a symbol of conquest by the Muslims who should NOT be able to obtain an exemption of taxes for their so-called “Religion” from the IRS due the extremely Political nature of their so-called “Religion”.
