What I would really like to know is this...

I posted this story this morning, not too long ago...And it has fallen off the face of Free Republic where other stories that have been lingering on the sidebar here for a long while...

I understand some threads hang around for some time due to the volume and frequency of responses...

But this one has not even had a chance to garner much attention (in the side bar to the right of the page) unless you do a “search” for the topic...

What gives???

I figure this topic would be a very interesting subject to discuss for many here on this website...

That is a good question.

When I read the article the thing that really stuck out at me is that for quite some time no one did anything to help the girl.

The girl had no idea where she was, Gonzalez said, and because she was in another country, officers could not go there directly to pick her up.

“The only thing that prevented us from going out there and helping her was that river,” the chief said.

Someone eventually went and brought her back. But was that an official police response? Would they have just left here there? That doesn't give me a lot of faith in our system.

When I posted this, I classified this as “Front Page” and “Extended News”...

It no longer shows up on the sidebar...I seriously doubt that there have been that many threads started that would have pushed this off from being noticed within a couple of hours...

Why are my classifications being changed to where this story gets buried???

This has happened before, and I do not abuse the “Breaking News” nor do I hype up the title to get attention for the wrong reasons...

A moderator can FReepmail me a response...

I was expecting this topic to get a lot more than 10-11 responses...
