Most people do not recognize that what happens in a mosque is sedition. Pure and simple. Islam is not just a “religion”, it is a cult. Larger than that though, it is a political system, it is it’s own government, a economic system (which includes funding new mosque construction), its judicial...all wrapped up in the word sharia. This is inclusive of its military (jihadis) all rolled into one with one intent ...and that is to rule wherever they take root. It is a invasive, systemic infection looking to take over the host once it has quantum.
This is not just a “religion”, but something that cloaks itself in those terms so it should not be given the same treatment contemplated under the first amendment. The Korans Sharia rules are to consume whatever government there is wherever it goes.
Islam is political, and it’s goal is to supplant and replace. Globally.

islum doesn’t merit Constitutional protection, anymore than the Mormon religion in the 1840s got, anymore than David Koresh got.
To me, there’s an easy way to dissect this. Sure, they have a right ro build a mosque, but considering the context of their request, the significance of the events that took place, it would be extremely offensive, not only to the friends and families of the victims or 9/11, but to the sanctity, dignity of our nation, our values. If I use the word n*gger at work...naturally I’d be censured or potentially fired. It’s a known taboo, something that is extremly offensive and distasteful in the civilized world. I have a right to say it, but there will most likely be severe consequences. Therefore, most people refrain from doing so...at least in public. So how would the murder of near 3000 Americans at the hands of Islamic zealots be any less offensive than a mosque at ground zero...something that is 1000 times greater in scope and consequence.

Good article by Mr. Hentoff. I’ll show it to our college aged daughter who is annoyed by all the yelling about the mosque, and thinks that if we don’t let it be built, it will just make the radicals more mad at us, and they’ll kill more innocent people. Hubby and I tried to tell her that they’ll be mad, no matter if the mosque is built, or not.
