The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration granted Nigeria its top air-safety rating Monday, a decision that allows Nigerian airlines to fly directly to the United States but does not address the nation's porous airport security.

After how many years of those markers at airports indicating the one airport worthy of not safe distinction being Lagos? I remember that 20 years ago.

Is this insane?

You ask as if it were the only example.

The cuckoos are out of the nest and running the country. Something has to give. I fear 9/11 was not a big enough wake up call and I truly fear for our future.

Having seen parts of Africa and having flown on African airlines I know this is a *huge* mistake which,I’ll wager, was driven by political correctness.

Spent quite a bit of time in Nigeria and going through Nigerian airports. I wouldn’t set foot on a Nigerian Airways plane and the airports are pretty much the worst in the world. This is nuts.

I’m sure the orders to give them the rating came from the oval office. It’s nice and convenient for waves of Nigerian immigrants to start coming here.

“Hello.

I’m from ther government, and I’m here to help you.”

To paraphrase Bubba, I guess it all comes down to what the meaning of “help” is . . . . . . and who the “you” is that they want to help?

It sure isn’t Americans!!

Leftists have an uncanny ability to destroy things which were formally held in high esteem.

Examples:

Nobel prizes in economics, literature and peace: Laughable jokes now)

Government ratings for schools: Give me a break, public schools are beyond redemption.

Airport security: Pay no attention to the ugly muzzie snarling behind you, let’s frisk that nun.

University standards: If your degree is from a big name college, and not in the sciences or engineering, it’s probably got as much intellectual firepower behind it as does the Obamaloon.

Justice Department: Is now an Oxymoron.

Public Servant: Is now an Oxymoron raised to a very high power.

Libs HAVE to lower standards so that they feel less inferior. After all, name ONE significant idea that has come from the lib community - EVER.

Didn’t you get the email, provide the Nigerians with your personal information and the guarantee safe air travel and a 65 million dollar deposit to your bank account.

FAA grants Nigeria its highest air safety rating

And this after the “underwear bomber” incident.

I can’t wait and constantly pray that adults will become the majority
of the House and/or the Senate.

From the article: “Demuren called news of the FAA’s decision “fantastic,” saying it showed how far the country had come.”

If he wasn’t referring to the United States when he made this remark, he could have been and would have been right on the mark.

The hippie liberal psychos who now populate the federal government top posts continue in 9/10 mode, stone cold deaf and dumb to the threats faced by this nation, and continue to capitulate to its enemies everywhere.

This fatal flaw in our governance is seized upon and milked by all entities seeking to diminish the power and influence of the West.

Of course the writer had to remind us that “hey there’s really nothing wrong with this, after all, look at all the U.S. airlines that are already flying from there, so don’t get your panties in a wad, there’s nothing to see here, just keep moving along....”

The head of the FAA figures he owes Nigeria that much in return for the $50 MILLIONS DOLLARS that will be deposited into his bank account as soon as he provides his account number and pays a few processing fees.

My thoughts exactly. Now that Nigerian General, who wants to know if he and Robert Mueller III can trust me, can bring their money directly to me. Rather than some complicated bank transfer.

I just need to tell them to make it small bills $100 or less, non-sequenced, check on luggage, etc.

Amen to that. I’ve worked in Nigeria for up to three years. “security” is a joke. Any amount of money will get whatever you want. I’ve seen a whole family with three children each over 3’ tall board a KLM flight for two coach seats claiming the children were “lap babies”. Took us 2 hours to sort that one out on Christmas Eve. Turned out they bribed the gate agents all the way.

This will not be so much a conduit for terrorism on the airplane as it is for someone to get into our airports here or smuggle something.

No sane person would ever get on a Nigerian run airline. Of course, Nigeria being Nigeria I presume they will now say there is no need for other airlines to have landing rights since they now “have it covered”.

Lack of reciprocation has prevented any direct US flights to Nigeria for years.
