Obama: 'We have come so far'; McCain pledges to help (***FLASHBACK 11/04/2008***)

(snip)

Sen. Obama has achieved a great thing for himself and for his country. I applaud him for it, and offer him my sincere sympathy that his beloved grandmother did not live to see this day. Though our faith assures us she is at rest in the presence of her creator and so very proud of the good man she helped raise.

Sen. Obama and I have had and argued our differences, and he has prevailed. No doubt many of those differences remain.

These are difficult times for our country. And I pledge to him tonight to do all in my power to help him lead us through the many challenges we face.

I urge all Americans ... I urge all Americans who supported me to join me in not just congratulating him, but offering our next president our goodwill and earnest effort to find ways to come together to find the necessary compromises to bridge our differences and help restore our prosperity, defend our security in a dangerous world, and leave our children and grandchildren a stronger, better country than we inherited.

Whatever our differences, we are fellow Americans. And please believe me when I say no association has ever meant more to me than that.

And the point of posting this is...? To focus attention on negative things rather than positive things? Do you like to just put rain clouds over people’s heads?

Sorry that McCain won his primary...but it is time to move on with life. Focus your attention on helping Jesse Kelly if you are in Arizona or another conservative candidate of your choice. There are plenty to choose from this time around. Continuing to obsess over McCain is unhealthy...and disturbing.

It’s like throwing a rock toward the sky. Look at it soar! Up up up! It goes so far! It’s an inspiration! Oh no — now it’s coming back down and it’s going to hit hard.

Continuing to obsess over McCain is unhealthy...

So you're saying I should fight liberals, so long as they're not Republicans, right?

Remember this quote? “You have nothing to fear from an Obama Presidency”. Thanks a lot Juan.

No that’s not what I said at all and you know it - lifting one piece of my post away from the rest is not exactly an honest thing to do. You should be better than that.

You fought this fight and it was lost. McCain won. It’s over. Now move on to achieve victory somewhere rather than just be bitter you failed in a fight that’s already over.
