I think all he is saying is that he supports their right to build it there, not necessarily the fact that they are building it there. There is a difference.

They do have the right to build it there, but that doesn’t mean they should. We The People have the right to register our objections.

I always find it strange that when the Mormons were driven out of the Midwest and went to Utah it was fine to practice their beliefs of multiple wife's but when it wanted to become a state they said you had to change your beliefs what happened to religious freedom?
