Sarah Palin caused 'stress, drama, panic' on campaign trail, says John McCain's daughter Meghan

John McCain shocked voters and pundits alike by picking Sarah Palin as a running mate in 2008, and McCain's daughter reveals the choice caused plenty of behind-the-scenes drama too.

In her new book "Dirty Sexy Politics," Meghan McCain says Palin brought "stress, drama, complications, panic and loads of uncertainty" to the campaign.

"She was not just an overnight success or even a political Cinderella story," McCain writes in an excerpt obtained by ABC News. "She was a sudden, freakishly huge, full-fledged phenomenon. It seemed too much. And it seemed too easy."

Speaking out about the former Alaska Gov. for the first time, McCain admits she once wondered if her father's loss "was Sarah Palin's fault."

She ultimately decided Palin wasn't responsible for John McCain's failure to win the presidency.

"I do clearly state at the end that we did not lose because of her, and I'm speaking out now because I do have conflicting feelings about her," McCain said Tuesday on ABC's Good Morning America. "She brought so much momentum and enthusiasm to the campaign."

(snip)

"Sarah Palin. She was turning out to be somebody who leaves a wake of confusion and chaos - to the point of dizziness - wherever she went."

Though McCain now says there are a lot of things she does like about Palin, she stayed cagey on where her vote would lie if the former VP candidate runs for president in 2012.

"I really don't like these hypothetical questions...It depends on the situation," McCain told ABC. "It's going to be a very interesting election, no matter what happens."

The thing that really frosts me as that her Father knew this book was coming out, conveniently ONE WEEK AFTER THE PRIMARIES. So he took her endorsement and now sends his bimbo daughter out to attack. HE IS DESPICABLE. I am seeing him on Thursday and I just might say something in front of everyone. I can’t stand this guy. I was willing to let go how wretched he was during the primary, but he can go to hell as far as I’m concerned.

Sell all of the books that you can right now, Meghan. Yours, and your media friends brand of Republican politics will smell like yesterday’s garbage after November, 2nd.

Little I despise more than a poser. JMc is a poser. On the surface he pretends to be conservative, but, beneath his thinly veiled surface, there lies a flaming liberal.

Come to think of it, his daughter is just like him. “Like father, like daughter.” “The apple doesn’t fall too far from the tree.”

At least she knows, and though painful for her, she is forced to admit, without Sarah, the election would have been a grand slam for the marxist.

Somehow the GOP, for reasons which still elude me, chose the bat boy for liberals as the top candidate. A loser right out the gate. But I must give credit where credit is due. And certainly, by no means of his own discernment, which if he had vetted proper, surely another more liberal choice would have been made. But ole Juan erred on this one. Completely by accident, or fate if you will, he introduced America to Sarah Palin.

For that, I owe him a debt of gratitude.

The whole McShame family is out of touch with reality. I hope this will help Sarah to cut her ties with the scum.

The old RINO didn’t even try to win.
He flushed it all down the toilet when he made that stupid remark, ‘There’s no need to fear Senator Obama. He’s a decent family ‘- or some such rot.

He ran back to D.C. to deal with the economy in order to postpone HER debate because he was panicked about her prep. That cost him the election. Whether she could have pulled it off is still a mystery.

LOL! If McCain had NOT picked Palin, he’d have not drawn even 40% of the vote. Who does ‘miss fancy pants’ think she is? Good grief! The media keep talking to her because she is such an airhead and they want to continue to make republicans look ditzy! What a great strategy! Someone stick a sock in her mouth, please!

Give it time she will bury herself into oblivian with her social values or grow up.

She is a young immature little girl.

She is pro abortion and pro homosexual agenda.

Other than that she says she is in agreement with Sarah. (she is clueless. perhaps she should sign up for dancing with the stars)

Wow, this ditzbag with a fat a$$ and sloppy bombs has the GALL to disparage Sarah Palin?

Her RINO jackass Dad used $18 million of PRSIDENTIAL ELECTION FUNDS to keep his primary election in tact and opposed a much more conservative JD Hayworth?

She is exactly what we do not need in the GOP, RINO’s and their spawn.

Go away, join the Libs, you need to cross the aisle and find Jenny Craig.

Be brave and speak your peace. He needs to hear it. It’s just a matter of time before he does a 180 from his senate campaign promises, again. His daughter is his tool, and is telegraphing for him.

“Sarah Palin caused ‘stress, drama, panic’ on campaign trail, says John McCain’s daughter Meghan”

No, McCain’s handlers did. Sarah tried to be honest (that’s being herself) and she was advised not to do that. That’s where any stress came from.

I think Meghan McCain would make an excellent partner for Levi Johnston.

They have a lot in common. he could be her 3rd boob. LOL

You’re right Hildy. Please do ask him that, I’d love to hear his reaction to that question. I guess loyalty is a one-way street with him. I hope Sarah got the message loud and clear.
