"Move America Forward" Endorses
Michael Grimm
for Congress

Staten Island, NY – The nation's largest pro-troop organization, Move America Forward, is endorsing Marine Corps and FBI veteran Michael Grimm for Congress.

“Michael Grimm has proven himself to be a capable and principled leader both on the battlefield and off.” said Gold Star mother, Debbie Lee with Move America Forward. “Michael has put his own life on the line for our nation, as so many of our brave troops have, and he proved himself to be an effective leader on the battlefield. In Congress, we need people who are committed to our troops and their missions in the war on terror. Michael has demonstrated that commitment on the battlefield and will continue to do so in the halls of congress, and that’s why we are proud to support him.”

Grimm is a Marine Corps veteran, enlisting in the USMC at the age of 19 and serving in the Persian Gulf War. As a Non-Commissioned Officer, Grimm was decorated for his service in the Gulf War, including a combat promotion for valor. He later transitioned to active reserve status, becoming an FBI Officer and Special Agent. Grimm has received prestigious endorsements from such leaders as Sen. John McCain, Former Mayor Rudy Giuliani and GOP VP nominee, Sarah Palin.

The pro-troop political action committee Move America Forward Freedom PAC (MAFPAC) will be holding the press conference at Michael Grimm for Congress Headquarters, Thursday, September 2nd at 10am.

Gold Star Mother Debbie Lee and former Navy SEAL Ben Smith will explain why Michael Grimm is their Congressional candidate of choice in District 13.

Debbie’s son Marc Alan Lee was the first Navy SEAL to be killed in the war in Iraq. Marc was killed in Ramadi on August 2nd, 2006 after saving the life of a fellow SEAL and putting his own safety at risk in order to keep his squad safe. Since losing her son, Debbie has traveled the country speaking out in support of the troops and the mission her son fought for and believed in.

Ben Smith is a former US Navy SEAL and served from 2000-2005 in the SEALS. In Iraq, Smith protected high ranking Iraqi officials and diplomats. He was also deployed for covert missions Africa and South America. Since retiring from the Navy SEALS, Ben has been an active supporter for the troops and has spoken at various rallies and events throughout the country.

Michael Grimm was also endorsed by the Combat Veterans for Congress and the Iraq Veterans for Congress.
