EXCLUSIVE: Outlook Gloomy at Secret Billionaire Meeting ( Fast Money CNBC)

For 25 years, legendary Wall Street strategist Byron Wien, now with The Blackstone Group, has held summer meetings with high net worth individuals to get their outlook on the global economy and investing. This year’s group, totaling fifty individuals and including more than 10 billionaires, was decidedly pessimistic on the U.S. economy, investment opportunities and the Obama administration.

“They saw the United States in a long-term slow growth environment with the near-term risk of recession quite real,” said Wien, in a commentary to Blackstone clients. “The Obama administration was viewed as hostile to business and that discouraged both hiring and investment. Companies and entrepreneurs were reluctant to add workers because they didn’t know what their healthcare costs or taxes were going to be.”

Some... MOST, in fact almost all, of the comments are from brainwashed economic illiterates. The Dark Side has many under its sway.

Stocks are off their August lows this month and many traders, including Iuorio, attribute some of those gains to this changing political tide.

A year ago the MSM was completely dismissing (and worse) the Tea Party movement.

Now every time I turn on the tube some big CEO is practically (in so many words) pleading with the Tea Partiers to get out and make sure we get this madness stopped in November.

They might want to fund some of the organizers.

"in fact almost all, of the comments are from brainwashed economic illiterates. "

True, and what those brainwashed advocate is some alternative to capitalism, usually a mixture of fascism and socialism --- just as noted by library user.

Library user: thank you for your post. All too often I picked those battles alone. They usually ended with me being outed as Goldman Sacks stock trader, Cantor Fitzgerald bond trader, member of Soros' circle, or just one of those "fat cats." These socialists refuse even to think when facts and logic are offered to them. They may be against the open borders and offended by attacks on Christianity, but they no absolutely nothing about how their country works economically and what has made it prosperous. Leftists in the White House simply have no opposition.

I watch the show all the time. Most of the panel are Republicans. But, I don’t care what they are because listening to them has been quite profitable for me.

The GREAT SOCIALIST EXPERIMENT that started with Roosevelt well, maybe with Wilson) is OVER and has been a FAILURE!

When I think about all the Soviet-style BS we put up with — just to prop up some the vaunted “middle class,” I get ill. America became a GREAT nation without having a coddled, subsidized “class” of people who could buy homes, new cars and big-screen TVs while working a 40-hour-per-week schedule. Americans are spoiled.

This politically correct worship of the sacred “middle class” — something we did very well without until after WWII — has to end. The gravy train is over!
