Sen. George Voinovich (R-Ohio), an outspoken budget hawk who is not afraid to buck his party, is leaning against voting for an extension of tax cuts passed under President George W. Bush.

“My gut is probably no,” Voinovich told The Hill. “I think I would probably not vote, period, for it.”

Good God. This guy is a moron. The difference between Democrats and RINOS seems to be that Dems don’t actually believe their BS. They KNOW that the Bush tax cuts actually lowered everyone’s taxes and that raising taxes at this time is economically disastrous. These idiot RINOS actually believe tax cuts are simply a loss of revenue.

Voinovich is a floating turd in a toilet bowl full of sinkers. Easily seen and identified for what he really is.

...who is not afraid to buck his party

How many Democrats in Congress are "not afraid to buck their party?"

He's just a whiny dumbass. Goodbye George, don't let the door bang you in the ass on the way out. Good riddance.

RINOs, the Vichey Republicans. How much more harm will they be allowed to do?

Precisely why you see the rise of the tea party because tea partiers are comprised of moderates, democrats, cpmservatives, republicans and independents, of all races, colors and creeds, etc.

It will be so nice to have this guy out of politics. Any argument against representative democracy as the best form of government would have him as Exhibit “A”.

On second thought, there would be lots of competition for Exhibit “A”, but he would certainly be in the running.

Ohio Voters:
When Bush cut tax rates across the board in 2003, the following occurred:

$785 Billion in increased govt tax revenue from 2004-2007, the largest 4 year tax revenue increase in US govt history

20% increase in stock prices

$15 Trillion created in new wealth

Economy expanded by 8 million jobs

The rich paid an even greater share of all federal income tax, because when the rich get richer, they pay more tax- d’oh

Please ask Senator George which of these effects he does NOT think might result now, and why.

Ask him whether the govt taking more money from the pockets of citizens and employers will create results anywhere near this?

and please share his boilerplate answer about “reducing the deficit” by cutting up a tiny chicken instead of feeding it and growing it bigger.

Thank you for the PING.

I've followed George Voinovich since he was Mayor of the City of Cleveland and then a two-term Governor.

He always did leave extra funds in the budget.

This does not surprise me. That's why he's doing it.

I don't agree, though.

BTW, don't judge me by Cleveland. I live in the #4 county in the nation in which to raise a family according to Forbes Magazine, which is two counties away. It's the only red county in northeast Ohio.

We don’t call him “Voinofabitch” for nothing.

BTW, his current position is impossible to distinguish from the position of John McCain, who voted against the tax cuts in the first place.

For starters he's no rocket scientist. But that's not exactly hidden.

At any rate there is a bright side; we'll soon have Rob Portman in his place.
