If Perry's sexuality is in question, at least he still defends the traditional family value of marriage. His outspoken, staunch stance on our marriage amendment in 2006, telling the sodomites to move to another state if they didn't like the definition of marriage, was a principled stand.
I didn't say Perry was perfect - not by a longshot - but even with his many faults, he is still miles better than an Øbama drone. Yes, he is.
Was it? "Principled"? Don't think so. The point is, the guy's a career hypocrite, scapegrace, and bull-steerer. And he's sold to someone else.
Incumbency notwithstanding, Rick Perry is one of the weakest candidates the Republicans could put forward. His days as a "placeholder" for George W. Bush are long since over. Ultimately, his career will be a loser for the GOP, for conservatives, or for any group that allows itself to be associated with Rick Perry.
Well, if they lied, if the HomoRats lied, if they all lied, then that should be an actionable libel if Perry could vindicate himself -- I say "could" because he hasn't lifted a finger, beyond issuing the formulaic Clintonesque denial (lie once brazenly and comprehensively, then shut up).
He's a bigger Mark Foley. Conservatives and Tea Party people cannot associate with this guy, or allow themselves to be associated with him.
Debra Medina at least bailed out the Tea Party people by running. Social conservatives still have a problem.
