The Iranian Red Crescent is planning to send two ships to Gaza this week it was announced on Monday.
AFP quotes Red Crescent director for international affairs Abdolrauf Adibzadeh as saying: “One ship will carry donations made by the people and the other will carry relief workers. The ships will be sent to Gaza by end of this week.”

Iran Revolutionary Guards ready to escort Gaza ships 06 Jun 2010 12:40:35 GMT Source: Reuters TEHRAN, June 6 (Reuters) - Iran’s elite Revolutionary Guards are ready to provide a military escort to cargo ships trying to break Israel’s blockade of Gaza, a representative of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said on Sunday.
“Iran’s navy forces are ready to escort the peace flotilla to Gaza with all their powers and capabilities,” Ali Shirazi, Khamenei’s representative inside the Revolutionary Guards, was quoted as saying by the semi-official Mehr news agency.
Any intervention by the Iranian military would be considered highly provocative by Israel which accuses Iran of supplying weapons to Hamas, the Islamist movement which rules Gaza.
The Guards, with their own navy, air force and command structure separate from the regular armed forces, are seen as fiercely loyal to the values of the Islamic Republic.
“If the Supreme Leader issues an order for this then the Revolutionary Guard naval forces will do their best to secure the ships,” Shirazi said. “It is Iran’s duty to defend the innocent people of Gaza.”

A flotilla of ships titled the “Viva Palestina” convoy, hailed by organizers as the largest convoy to break the Gaza embargo, is set to depart this weekend, organizers announced Thursday. The flotilla has been cleared to sail from Syria to the Egyptian port of Al-Arish, from where it will make its way into Gaza. The Egyptian government announced that it will allow the aid convoy to dock at Al-Arish seaport while en route to Gaza. Hussam Zaki of the Egyptian Foreign Ministry confirmed that the convoy will be allowed access to Gaza however he insisted George Galloway, the British ex-parliamentarian

SNIPPET: “The fourth Viva Palestina (VP) land convoy arrived in the Gaza Strip Thursday, with more than 350 people from 30 different countries delivering nearly 150 vehicles, and $5 million worth of aid. Similar to VP’s previous trips to Gaza, convoy members were warmly greeted by Hamas officials.
Deputy Hamas foreign minister Ahmed Youssef spoke at a press conference along with VP leader Kevin Ovenden, who said that peace in the Middle East could be achieved only by including Hamas. Youssef, born in Gaza, came to the United States in 1982 where he served as the Executive Director of United Association for Studies and Research (UASR). UASR was an Islamist think tank that was an arm of the defunct Palestine Committee, a Hamas support network in the U.S. created by the Muslim Brotherhood.
On Friday, Viva Palestina activists met with Hamas PM Ismail Haniyeh during a lunch. Haniyeh later appeared on stage at a festival honoring the “Life line 5 convoy,” along with Yemini Sheikh Muhammad al-Hazimi. Al-Hazimi instigated passengers on the IHH Mavi Marmara ship to fight the Israelis during the May 2010 flotilla. Haniyeh is the man sitting fifth from the right, and Al-Hazimi is the man sitting all the way on the right in this picture.”
