1,905-page suicide note

If he had decided to write a sequel he'd probably still be alive.......

In the note Heisman wrote that he took his life as part of a philosophical exploration he called "an experiment in nihilism."

So, how'd the ol' "experiment" work out there, dude?

This is always the ultimate conclusion to sincere atheism. The atheist, existentialist Camus acknowledged the inevitable nihilism which atheism leads to leaves only one real philosophical question - “why continue to go on living?”

Hide that suicide note!!!

I am sure that anyone who tries to read it will want to shoot themselves before they get halfway through it.

His only association with Harvard was geographical. He was an academic failure.

For some reason, whenever I hear the word “nihilism” or “nihilist”, I think of Jeff Bridges, John Goodman, Steve Buscemi, bowling leagues and, for some reason, “Flea”, the bass player from the Red Hot Chili Peppers...

I’ve learned one thing from watching Lt. Columbo: Never trust a suicide note that isn’t handwritten.

A tip to any authors seeking fame and acclaim through nescroscopy: Keep it short. It you can’t explain you suicide in less than 200,000 words, you’ll lose your audience. In fact if a suicide takes more than a paragraph or two explain, it’s probably not worth doing.

Just as I suspected, boy wonder was insane.

Life is hard, it’s even harder when you’re stupid.

I make no apologies about my ambivalence. This pussy isn’t a pimple on the ass of a young American solder and thus he deserves zero attention.

http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Ecclesiastes+1&version=NIV

Ecclesiastes 1 (New International Version)

Ecclesiastes 1

Everything Is Meaningless
 1 The words of the Teacher, [a] son of David, king in Jerusalem:

 2 "Meaningless! Meaningless!"
       says the Teacher.
       "Utterly meaningless!
       Everything is meaningless."

 3 What does man gain from all his labor
       at which he toils under the sun?

 4 Generations come and generations go,
       but the earth remains forever.

 5 The sun rises and the sun sets,
       and hurries back to where it rises.

 6 The wind blows to the south
       and turns to the north;
       round and round it goes,
       ever returning on its course.

 7 All streams flow into the sea,
       yet the sea is never full.
       To the place the streams come from,
       there they return again.

 8 All things are wearisome,
       more than one can say.
       The eye never has enough of seeing,
       nor the ear its fill of hearing.

 9 What has been will be again,
       what has been done will be done again;
       there is nothing new under the sun.

 10 Is there anything of which one can say,
       "Look! This is something new"?
       It was here already, long ago;
       it was here before our time.

 11 There is no remembrance of men of old,
       and even those who are yet to come
       will not be remembered
       by those who follow.

"Man leaves behind 1905-page suicide note..."

Why don't we ever see an Opus like that here on FreeRepublic?

His family and about 400 friends received the 1,905-page suicide note in a posthumous e-mail.

Wouldn't that freeze up the servers at their ISPs? Receiving big files is always a pain for me.

Carved beneath the typical information on his headstone, perhaps to reflect on a final irony, should be the simple annotation:
