I take it you know very little about getting government grants. Paucity of data won't get you dough, wild assumptions that grab headlines will. Silly you!

If the planet crosses in front of the star (from our perspective) perhaps we can obtain a chemical spectrum of its atmosphere and determine if certain life-indicating molecules are present in the atmosphere. There are various molecules thought to exist in large numbers only if living organisms are continually replenishing them.
